A Chicago man was arrested and charged after he was caught on camera running over an infant following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend.
Reports say that 46-year-old Joseph Fults was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor domestic battery after the incident early Monday morning. Witness cell phone video captured the dispute between Fults and a woman next to a parked SUV in the street. Fults, who appears to be in the driver's seat, was arguing with his girlfriend while her seven-year-old son attempted to intervene. At one point, the woman’s eight-month-old baby was handed to her from inside the car, and then woman calls out to someone to call the police.
“Don’t throw my motherf---ing daughter,” yells the woman at Fults. “Hey! He just threw my daughter, G,” she yells at a person off camera. “Call the police on his ass.”
Suddenly, the baby girl drops to the ground, and just as the woman tries to swing at him, the car starts to pull away and the baby’s legs are run over.
Police say that a dispute broke out between Fults and his 23-year-old girlfriend before the witness caught it on camera. Fults reportedly punched both the girlfriend and her seven-year-old son before the scuffle happened outside of the car.
Both children, who suffered bruises, were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Now, Fults has been charged and is currently being held on $10,000 bail. The Chicago Sun-Times notes that the Department of Children and Family Services has not said if they are investigating the incident.
