A Pennsylvania cheerleading coach was charged with sexual assault after allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old student for the past year, including several times during school hours.
Nicole Kurowski, 27, teaches physical education at Tulpehocken High in Bernville, Pa.
Investigators received an email tip alleging Kurowski was sexually involved with a student. They found Kurowski began dating a 17-year-old senior in October 2012.
Phone records showed she spoke to the teen on a daily basis, including exchanging explicit text messages.
Pennsylvania State Police say the couple went out of the way to hide their relationship, including meeting an area near a nursing home.
Kurowski is now suspended without pay.
“She was an employee for us for two years as a physical education teacher and cheerleading coach,”district superintendent Ed Albert told CBS Philadelphia.
Charged with institutional sexual assault and related charges, Kurowski was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
