Lovers who were reportedly in relationships with other people were shot dead in Philadelphia while partially clothed in the back seat of a parked car.
Shakoor Arline, 25, and Lisa Smith, 32, were found dead with gunshot wounds in the head in the backseat of an SUV on Nov. 6, NBC 10 reports. Philadelphia authorities found Arline naked and Smith partially clothed.
A maintenance crew discovered the bodies in the vehicle while emptying trash cans. Crew members noticed the SUV was parked in a strange area near a gazebo.
"I can tell you from the crime scene, it appears to be very much a crime of passion," Philadelphia Police Capt. James Clark said. "We've got nine shots fired, all of them head shots, to both of the victims."
Police initially believed Smith and Arline were dating, but revealed on Nov. 9 they were in relationships with other people.
"We know that they had a relationship, but also they had outside relationships, so obviously that's where our investigation is going to start," Clark said. "Because somebody knew that they were in the park at that time and obviously had an issue with that."
Police questioned a woman in connection with the incident, but have made no arrests. The investigation continues.
