A small Wisconsin university just lifted a lockdown after reports of a gunman on campus.
Carroll University, home to roughly 3,500 students, sent out a text alert to its students and faculty after a public safety officer was informed that there was a man with a gun on campus. Two students allegedly saw a white male, about 50 or 60 years old, near the tennis courts on campus carrying a “long gun.”
University public relations director Claire Beglinger told local news outlet WITI-TV that the police had brought tracking dogs to help find the man.
According to the university website, the lockdown has been lifted and Waukesha police have a suspect in custody.
Classes are to resume this afternoon.
