Carissa Hads Jailed for Pretending to be Male Online and Having Sex with Teen

A woman who posed as a teenage boy online so she could have sex with a 15-year-old girl has been sentenced to 87 months in jail.

Carissa Hads, 25, of Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to traveling in interstate commerce with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct in October. She was sentenced on Tuesday.

The woman pretended she was an 18-year-old male, going by the name of James Puryear Wilson on MySpace and Facebook.

Hads started her relationship with the girl in 2010. After a year of talking online, texting, and sending written journals back and forth to each other, they met in person.

According to reports, she visited the girl at least three times and was arrested on May 25, 2012 at the Pittsburgh International Airport during one visit.

To make her appearance seem more convincing, Hads wore colored contact lenses, a back brace to cover her breasts, and kept a fake, flesh-colored penis in her pocket.

Hads provided the victim with a cell phone. The victim took naked photos of herself and texted them to her "boyfriend."

While pretending to be Wilson, Hads had a sexual encounter with the victim at least once at her home in Lewis County. Hads allegedly used the fake penis in this incident.

After another teen became suspicious of Hads, she informed the police and said that the woman had threatened her.

Hads' fake Facebook for Wilson said that he was the father of two twin boys. A picture of the "twins" had been uploaded, but investigations revealed that it was a picture from a photography ad.

When the victim spoke to police in May, she said that she had never seen her boyfriend naked and that during the sexual encounter, "he" had "pulled his penis through his unzipped pants."
