These Odd Optical Illusion Photos Drove Viewers Crazy (Photos)

Several pictures featuring trick optical illusions have been making the rounds on social media, stumping viewers.

A photo of six bikini-clad girl friends posing on a beach together has a trick to it that dares viewers to guess what it is. Shared on Instagram, the picture has stumped many a follower on the social media site as to what the illusion could be.

Study the picture below -- all the girls are simultaneously striking a similar pose for the camera and are wearing black sunglasses.

However, those with eagle eyes will be able to discern that the picture has been manipulated in a sneaky way.

An Instagram user has edited it so that the face of the man in the background is also the faces of the women in the forefront of the photo.

Once the "trick" has been revealed, the edit seems glaringly obvious. However, many an Instagram user has admitted they couldn't detect what was singularly strange about the picture.

Commenting on the photo, one user stated: "Oh my f***ing God I can't breathe. ... I almost fell."

Another confessed: "It took me 9 hours to figure it out."

Other photos designed to baffle viewers with a hidden detail have provoked similar reactions. For instance, seemingly regular photo of three women sitting on a park bench confused a lot of people.

The picture depicts the trio smiling into the camera as they casually rest on a park bench on a sunny day. And yet there is something unnatural about the picture that stands out as soon as it is detected.

Originally shared on Imgur, the picture has recently resurfaced online to stir up a reaction.

When the picture is carefully inspected, we see there is no seat on the bench and the women seem to be hovering mid-air on an invisible support.

The official explanation is that the bench features smaller pullout seats designed to optically trick the camera and viewer.

Photos edited or snapped to fool the viewer have grown increasingly popular online. The image below, of a young woman striking a sultry pose in her room, seems innocuous enough.

Yet, if you look closer, you will see that there is something "off" about the black-and-white picture.

Posted initially on Facebook and titled "Look carefully" by Deviantart user Missmiserystock in 2003, the picture was a massive hit among social media users.

If you peer closely, you will see the woman actually has six fingers on her right hand instead of five.

Likely edited, the subtle physical difference has thrown off many viewers.

One user wrote: "Hahaha thats insane it took me a while to catch it good job!"

Fun pictures like these will very likely continue to pop up on the internet.
