Two California teens were arrested after they were caught on video knocking a classmate unconscious and jumping on his motionless body.
The Orange County District Attorney said a 17-year-old suspect knocked the 16-year-old victim down after an argument and then Robert Valentina Ayala, 18, joined in the attack.
The suspects, who are students at Tesoro High School, were charged with assault and battery.
The incident took place May 20 at an elementary school playground.
In the video Ayala kicked the 16-year-old unconscious, CBS Los Angeles reported.
The 17-year-old suspect then punched the victim eight more times.
Finally, Ayala allegedly leg dropped the unconscious victim, who suffered a broken nose and a concussion.
The person filming the incident was a friend of the victim. He said he was afraid to get involved because the bullies allegedly threatened to hurt him.
Students told CBS News that the victim and the suspect have a long-standing rivalry. They allege the suspects organized the off-campus beating over an earlier incident.
Ayala pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault and battery charges, with an enhancement for great bodily harm.
He is being held on $50,000 bail.
