California man Ray De la Cruz was arrested Thursday for secretly recording female coworkers using the bathroom, after police discovered that he had accidentally filmed himself as well.
A coworker initially found the iPod that Cruz used to record employees, which was taped to the back wall of a shelf of a storage locker. According to the employee who found the camera, she discovered it because it beeped loudly.
When Cruz was confronted by his boss, he admitted to setting up the device to "record persons who went to the restroom,” the affidavit said.
Cruz was also wearing his nametag in the video and was therefore identified.
The 44-year-old was later fired from the unidentified business.
Cruz was released from the Bexar County Jail on Christmas Eve after posting $10,000 bond. He was charged with improper photography.
If convicted, Cruz could face up to two years in a state jail facility.
