Two students at Brown University are hosting "Nudity in the Upspace" an event to celebrate nudity for one week, beginning Sept. 30.
Apparently, the "Upspace" is an indoor performance space on the Providence, R.I. campus.
According to BlogDailyHerald.com, some of the nude activities will include: open mic nights, yoga classes, body painting and a discussion forum.
The Brown University website says the discussion forum will be “an open and honest discussion about power, privilege, race, class, gender, ability, and other isms how they intersect with nudity, body image, nudity in relation to sexuality, etc."
Event organizers and Brown students Becca Wolinsky and Camila Pacheco-Fores are hoping all the events promote education.
“It’s mostly the idea of talking about and addressing things that people don’t ‘normally’ address and that can be stigmatized. I hope that people will laugh when it’s funny and feel moved when that is appropriate. I hope that people will come out of the experience feeling empowered and feeling that bodies and people are beautiful whether naked or clothed,” Pacheco-Fores told BlogDailyHerald.com
