Two brothers from Miami have reportedly been arrested and charged with kidnapping a 16-year-old girl and forcing her to have sex with dozens of men a day.
Bogacski Thomas and Tavarus Ballard, both 24, were reportedly arrested Tuesday and charged with human trafficking, drug possession, and robbery, reports the New York Daily News. The men allegedly abducted the teen in January and forced her to have sex with up to two dozen men a day for a two-week period. They reportedly also forced her to take marijuana, Molly, and cocaine, beat her, and threatened to harm her family if she escaped.
The suspects reportedly used the money earned by their young victim to buy drugs, food, and hotel rooms, according to Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle.
"She to them was nothing more than a walking machine," Fernandez Rundle said, a local news station reports. "No dignity, not a human being, not a young girl, a cash machine. That's how these predators look at them."
The teen allegedly escaped with another underage girl, who was reportedly Thomas' girlfriend. It is still unknown whether the girlfriend was another victim or a suspect in the incident.
The brothers are reportedly in custody without bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
