A Russian teenager reportedly died in a Moscow classroom after a prank bullies pulled on him went wrong. The teacher was in the room at the time, watching (video below).
Sergei Casper, 17, was a victim of bullying at school, and one day, a group of students decided to pull a prank on him.
The prank involved the bullies wrapping Casper in plastic wrap, to restrict his movement, and putting him feet-first into a toilet. After pulling the prank, they brought him back to the classroom, still wrapped up.
Back in the classroom, Casper was unable to move his legs freely, and at one point, he lost his balance and fell towards the teacher’s desk. When he fell, Casper hit his throat on the desk.
As a result of hitting the desk, Casper's esophagus was crushed. As he lay on the ground, unable to breathe, his classmates continued to taunt him and laugh at him.
Eventually, everyone in the room realized Casper was seriously injured, but it was too late. Casper died soon after.
Now, police are investigating the incident while the 17-year-old’s grieving parents are demanding to know why the teacher did nothing to stop the bullying.
“They seemed to think it was hilarious, and then they decided to take their prize back to the classroom where although the teacher was sitting at her desk, she did absolutely nothing to help him,” Alex, a friend of Casper’s, told local media. “He was a good guy, he never did anything bad to anyone and he was my friend. But the others just picked on him all the time.”
One student involved in the prank maintained they were simply playing a joke and that it had gone unexpectedly wrong.
The school denies it was aware of the bullying against Casper before the incident.
Reports say that Casper, who was at one point a popular student at the school, was bullied because he was interested in the arts.
