Toddler And Mother Strangled To Death

A Georgia man has been arrested after allegedly strangling a mother and her 2-year-old son.

On April 16, police received a call from a homeowner, who said his son, Brandon Williams, had strangled his girlfriend and her toddler, who both lived in the Buford home, according to WXIA.

Police found Williams, 32, at a RaceTrac gas station near the house. He was arrested and charged with one count of felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

"The caller reported that his son had choked a mother and child that live at the house and walked a short distance up the street to a gas station," Gwinnett police Cpl. Deon Washington told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The mother and toddler were both rushed to a nearby hospital but died within hours.

"Fortunately, this was an isolated incident and police are not searching for any additional suspects," Washington said.

The homeowner told WXIA his son was acting strangely the night of the double homicide and was walking around the house wearing a mask. Police have not confirmed if Williams was wearing the mask during the murder.

Around 11 p.m., Williams' father says his son strode passed him without a word and began making his way up the road toward the local gas station. Shortly after, he discovered the two victims and called 911.

Although the homeowner refused to be identified by name, he confirmed that the mother was Williams' girlfriend. He says he was in the driveway working on his car at the time of the murder and that he hates his son for what he did.

Loved ones made their way to the crime scene on April 17 to pay their respects. Although nobody would openly speak to reporters, one man in attendance identified the victim as 32-year-old Natalie Nation and said that he had been her best friend since the seventh grade.

Nation and her son, Cole, were renting out a room in the house, according to WSB-TV. Williams is not believed to be the boy's father.

"There’s no relationship between the victim and suspect," said Washington, even though the father indicated there was.

As family and friends mourn the loss of the young mother and child, police are still working to uncover a possible motive for the double homicide.

"We’re hoping to extract some information from him about why something like this would happen," said Washington.

Williams currently remains in custody without bail.
