Bolton, UK, Teen Eden Lomax Convicted Of Killing Man With One Punch (Video)

A teenager has been convicted of killing a man with a single punch and then going to a friend’s house to play video games on June 14.

Mirror Online reported that Eden Lomax, 17, of Bolton, U.K., punched Simon Mitchell, 43, so hard that a witness described him falling over "like the minute hand moving from 12 o'clock to three o'clock.”

Mitchell, of Hunger Hill, Bolton, tried to diffuse the tension by offering his hand in friendship, but the teenager threatened to “bomb him” if he did not go away.

Lomax has pleaded guilty to two other attacks that were unprovoked, both of which happened near Victoria Square where Mitchell was murdered.

The 17-year-old first punched a 31-year-old man with a learning disability in the face while he waited for a bus on June 7, according to BBC News Manchester. He then gave a drunken 41-year-old man a swift punch after they started a conversation.

Before punching Mitchell, police said Lomax threatened two other drunken men.

The wallop broke Mitchell’s jaw as he fell backwards, injuring his head on the pavement.

"Eden Lomax struck Simon Mitchell, a complete stranger to him, in a public street,” senior crown advocate for CPS North West, Robert Hall, said. "Initially, Lomax claimed he had been acting in self-defence, however, this was a lie he crafted in an attempt to avoid paying the penalty for his actions."

"Simon lost his life at the hands of a young thug, who was driven by aggression and pent-up violence,” Detective Chief Inspector Pete Jackson said. "He revelled in the fact that he could knock vulnerable people unconscious with a single punch, which he referred to as his 'bomb'."

Lomax was found guilty of murder at Manchester crown court on Nov. 21 and will be sentenced on Dec 9.
