Boko Haram Allegedly Beheads 6-Year-Old Christian Boy During Mass Attack

Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram allegedly beheaded a 6-year-old boy for being a Christian.

The beheading took place on June 1 in Attagara, Gwoza district, Borno State, a mostly Christian community.

Christian Today reports 100 militants entered the village, killing men, women, and children with machetes and gun fire during Sunday church services.

Sawaltha Wandala witnessed the murdering of children and saw men throw one child into a ditch, reports The Voice of the Martyrs. Concerned for the child’s safety, he picked up the 6-year-old boy and planned to take him to the hospital in Cameroon.

Wandala never made it.

Five insurgents stopped him, took the boy from his arms, and beheaded the 6-year-old.

They then proceeded to beat Wandala with tree branches, struck him in the head with a rock and left him badly injured – bleeding from his nose and mouth.

Another attack occurred two days later; a reported 200 people were killed in both attacks.

A survivor of the Attagara attacks, John Yakuba, returned home to retrieve animals and belongings, but was met with Boko Haram members.

"We know you're John," they allegedly said to him. "You must convert to Islam or else you will die a painful death."

The Boko Haram members tortured Yakuba when he refused to denounce Christ.

They tied his arms and legs to a tree and hacked off his hands with a knife.

“Can you become a Muslim now?” they said to him.

“You can kill my body, but not my soul,” Yakuba said in response.

The torture of Yakuba continued, with an axe being used to cut into his knee all the way to bone. They slashed his head with a knife.

After he lost consciousness, the terrorists left Yakuba tied to the tree where he remained for three days. He was eventually rescued and taken to a hospital where a Voice of the Martyrs worker spoke with him about how he felt about his attackers.

“I have forgiven the Islamic militants, because they did not know what they are doing,” Yakuba said.

Boko Haram has committed acts of kidnapping and murdering of Christians and Shiite Muslims across Nigeria in a campaign to establish an extremist, Sunni Muslim leadership.
