The body of 28-year-old mother Nicole White was found over the weekend in the woods near Kapowsin, Washington.
White, a mother of two boys, was last seen on June 6 at Jeepers bar in Spanaway. She was seen with Jonathan Harris, a man who had frequented the bar at least once before. The next day, White went missing.
“Sunday morning, [she] didn’t show up for work, didn’t come to get her boys, which is very unlike her,” White’s cousin Dana Johnson said, according to Q13 FOX. “She would either call if she was going to be late, text, something.”
On June 8, White’s Dodge Neon was discovered in a ravine near Graham. Although search dogs led authorities to a nearby pond, there was no sign of White anywhere. That is, until this weekend.
Search dogs led investigators into the woods nearby, where they discovered White’s body wrapped in a tarp. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, and the cause of her death has not yet been released.
Currently, Harris is in federal custody on an unrelated weapons charge. He is a person of interest in the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation into White’s death. According to the department’s detective Ed Troyer, deputies believe a case against Harris will be presented this week.
White's 7- and 3-year-old sons are staying with their father, King 5 News reports.
