Bo Obama — otherwise known as the first dog — wasn’t all too pleased his owner First Lady Michelle Obama was getting all the attention at her reading of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” earlier this month.
The reading was at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and in front of hundreds of guests and children, the shaggy first dog jumped up in Michelle’s lap just as she was about to begin reading.
The First Lady laughed off the intrusion, “This is exactly what he does at home,” she said. “He tries to beat Malia and Sasha to my lap.”
Bo, a sizeable Portuguese water dog, remained snuggled in Michelle’s lap as she read the book in front of an elaborately decorated Christmas tree.
Four-year-old Bo made his debut in the White House during Obama’s first year in office, and has been sharing the spotlight with the Obamas since.
