Author David Lee Brewer has accused singer Beyonce Knowles' parents of child abuse.
In his recently released book, "Beyonce: Raising Genius," the star's former vocal coach alleges he witnessed scenes in her family home that disturbed him, reports CeleBuzz.
Brewer alleges he had lived in the Knowles family home in Texas at the time and has first-hand experience of what truly went on behind closed doors.
He recalls Beyonce often finding herself caught in the middle in screaming matches between her parents, Tina and Mathew Knowles.
"Her parents' spats [over money, or Mathew’s absences] would bother Beyonce tremendously," he wrote, reports Radar Online. "A deeply sensitive child, Beyonce would adopt other people’s issues as her own. She was way too young to understand that taking on her parents’ troubles was unhealthy."
What's more, Brewer alleges Beyonce's mother often took out her anger on her child by controlling the singer's diet, even calling her fat.
"She obsessed about Beyonce's weight," he wrote. "She was the self-appointed Food Police."
"Beyonce as a little girl was a bit pudgy, but by no means fat," Brewer added. "Still, her mother commented incessantly on what Beyonce ate and insisted that she do nightly sit ups, reminding her of the sacrifices she would have to make as a star singer."
In the book, Brewer claims he tried to help Beyonce deal with such comments by taking her out for meals after vocal classes.
"In addition to cheesecake, she loved the chopped beef baked potatoes from the Brisket House, fish from Pappadeaux's, and hamburgers at Checker's," he wrote. "Whenever she would have an extraordinary lesson or would feel depressed, I would take her out to one of her favorite places for a vitamin-filled treat and we would talk."
Meanwhile, Brewer claims Beyonce's father, Matthew, was no better.
After a fight with his wife, Brewer says he heard Matt "kick Beyonce's beloved Siamese [cat]" while referring to it as an "ugly a*s cat."
It would not be the first time Beyonce's parents have received negative media attention over how they raised their child.
Some think Beyonce herself referred to her father's infidelity in the song, "Daddy Lessons," reports Vanity Fair.
Tina and Matthew finalized their divorce in 2011.
"You remind me of my father, a magician," Beyonce sings. "Able to exist in two places at once. In the tradition of men in my blood, you come home at three a.m. and lie to me. What are you hiding?"
