'Austin Powers' Star Joseph Hyuangmin Son Gets Life in Prison for Brutal Rape

Joseph Hyuangmin Son, who appeared in the movie “Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery," has received a life sentence for his part in a gang rape of a woman on Christmas in 1990.

Son, who played the role of Dr. Evil’s henchman “Random Task” in the Austin Powers movie, was convicted last month and sentenced to life today.

The victim was attacked and abducted by Son and a friend in Huntington Beach, California. The actor raped the woman, sodomized her, sexually assaulted her with a gun and then released her naked in Compton.

Joseph Hyuangmin Son was linked to the crime in 2008 with DNA evidence.

The female victim released a statement saying, “My emotional scars are intense. My twenties were stripped from my life as I relearned how to walk, see, hear and cope with the outside world again.

“Joseph Son not only cost me my job at my salon but also my college savings… not to mention the impact it’s made on celebrating Christmas year after year.”
