Atlanta Teen Orentheal Childs Survives Being Shot 15 Times After Leaving Gang

One 19-year-old man miraculously survived being shot 15 times by fellow gang members, after he told them he didn’t want to be a part of it anymore.

Orentheal Childs was part of an Atlanta gang called Young Mob. After he told the gang he wanted out, he was shot 15 times on the street on February 15 and left for dead.

The gang’s motto is “You’re in until you die.”

But fortunately, Childs did not die. He started crawling and eventually someone found him and called for help. Those who came to help him are now in protective custody.

He is out of surgery and is alert.

“He told the other members of the gang, ‘Hey, look, I want to go straight, be law-abiding,’ and they weren’t happy with it,” U.S. Marshal Eric Heinz said. “Never since I’ve been in law enforcement have I seen someone shot 15 times and live.”

They are now searching for the gang members involved in the shooting.

Shortly after he was shot, U.S. Marshals agents and Atlanta Police arrested two people, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old.

Farrakmad Muhammad Price was found hiding out in a hotel in Tennessee, and according to an arrest warrant, was accused of shooting Childs 15 times.

He was put in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and was then transported by police back to Georgia.

“Both suspects are confirmed members of the Young Mob, which is a subset or affiliate of the Goodfellas street gang,” Heinz said.

An anonymous relative of Childs said he is recovering and doing well.

“I think he’s strong and he’s a survivor,” she said. “My message is change before it’s too late. Because the same way they did him, somebody could do them.”
