Ashley Anne Riggitano, a budding New York fashionista, leapt to her death from the George Washington Bridge into the Hudson River on Thursday. Her best friend and business partner, Victoria Van Thuen, posted a Facebook rant that was believed to be aimed at Riggitano only hours before her death.
Van Thunen co-owned a jewelry line called Missfits with Riggitano. Her Facebook rant read: “Those who incessantly blame others as the cause of their issues should perhaps take a step back and reevaluate these situations. The common thread may be that ‘they’ aren’t the problem, but rather that YOU are.’”
Left behind on the bridge where Riggitano jumped was a Louis Vuitton bag that contained handwritten notes naming off five people who made her unhappy and she didn’t want at her funeral. It is unknown if Van Thunen was on that list of five; it is known, however, that there was a man listed that Riggitano was unhappy with.
Van Thunen was unavailable for comment Thursday evening.
Also in her bag were various medications including Adderall for Attention Deficit Disorder and Klonopin for Epilepsy and Panic Disorder. The New York Post reported that this might have not been Riggitano’s first suicide attempt.
It was Riggitano’s 22nd birthday.
