In yet another example of fast food customers finding foreign objects in their food, a woman has claimed that she found a razor blade in her salad.
The woman, Jennifer Ashley, discovered the razor blade at a Burger King location in Flagstaff, Arizona. She reportedly notified the branch’s manager immediately after making the discovery. According to Yahoo News, an employee admitted to placing the blade on a shelf in an area where food is prepared, where it likely fell off a shelf and into a tub of lettuce.
The employee responsible for allowing razor blades near food, an act which goes against company policy, has since been fired from Burger King.
The discovery follows similar instances that have occurred throughout the country in the recent past. In 2012, for example, a Fairfield, Connecticut woman claimed to have bitten into a razor blade that had somehow made its way into her burrito bowl. The case of a woman who claimed to have discovered a severed finger in her Wendy’s chili bowl is notorious because the woman was found to have fabricated the entire incident.
Although this Burger King incident was verified to be true, Ashley claimed that she does not plan to take legal action against the company. She did, however, receive a refund for her meal as well as a free salad.
