The Duggar family, who star on the TLC reality show "19 Kids And Counting," has a long history of opposing gay rights.
Josh Duggar, the family's eldest child, led a rally against gay marriage in Arkansas earlier this year, reported RightWingWatch.org.
Michelle Duggar, his mom, recorded a robocall against a non-discrimination LGBT ordinance in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In the robocall, she suggested that transgender people were child molesters, noted The Daily Beast.
According to The Huffington Post, the family removed pictures of same-sex couples kissing from their Facebook.
However, now there are reports that Michelle’s older sister Evelyn Ruark is a lesbian who lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a woman named Sharon Callahan. This revelation was confirmed by Sharon’s mother Dolores to RadarOnline.com.
Sharon reportedly told The National Enquirer in 2010 that she was Ruark's “significant other.”
“We are worried about [the Duggar family],” Sharon said. “We have often thought that QuiverFull [movement] is a cult. It appears to be brainwashing to me.”
Josh confirmed in 2013 that he had a lesbian aunt, who opposes gay rights, during a Family Research Council radio broadcast, noted GoodAsYou.org.
"I have an aunt who has chosen to live that life and I love my aunt. I think she is an amazing person," said Josh.
Josh also claimed, “She believes, and this is what she told me, that she believes that marriage is between one man and one woman.”
