Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, owner of, suggested today on Twitter that the bombing at the Boston Marathon might be a "false flag" to somehow undermine civil liberties.

Jones tweeted on Twitter: "Our hearts go out to those that are hurt or killed #Boston Marathon - but this thing stinks to high heaven #falseflag."

He later tweeted: "Explosions at the Boston Marathon. Don't that the FBI has been behind virtually every domestic terror plot in the US, as NY Times reported."

However, the New York Times has not reported that the "FBI has been behind virtually every domestic terror plot," if that's what Jones was trying to say. The New York Times reported that the FBI has created some fake terror plots to catch extremists.

Jones also claimed in a video (below) that a bombing drill was scheduled today and might fit into his conspiracy theory.

Today, during a press conference about the explosions, Dan Bidond, from, asked law enforcement officials if the Boston bombing was some sort of "false flag," which they quickly dismissed (video below), reports

Jones, who often claims government conspiracy theories, was called out by various websites for his claims. He responded by claiming on that the mainstream media was "demonizing" him.
