Alabama woman Sebrina Ann Thompson was arrested over the weekend when she reportedly tried to give away a child at Walmart.
Officers responded to the store on Saturday night in Athens and found an allegedly inebriated Thompson. Police claimed that Thompson was trying to give away a young child. It was discovered that Thompson was not the child’s mother, but a relative, according to police Chief Floyd Johnson.
The age and sex of the child was not released.
Thompson was transported to Limestone County Jail where she was charged with child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Athens police station, officers returned the child home.
“So the child is back with its parents. It apparently is no better off,” one Alabama Live commenter wrote. “What was it doing in the possession of this person?”
The case is still under investigation.
