An Alabama man decapitated a copperhead snake he saw in his yard and then watched as the snake proceeded to eat itself. Sam Billiter captured the whole thing on video and posted it to YouTube.
Billiter spotted the extremely venomous snake in a pile of wood in his yard and tried to kill it so that it would not hurt his dog or 4-year-old son.
He posted the video on Facebook on Monday afternoon with the caption "Copperhead bites itself (after I decapitated it) very crazy watch it!!!"
Billiter used a machete on the snake, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
"As soon as I looked it up and saw it was a copperhead, there was no choice," he said. "It had to die. I wanted to take a video of its body moving without its head and within a couple of seconds it bit itself. That's some crazy stuff right there."
Many snakes still have active reflexes up to an hour after their death and they can still kill after they have been killed.
