After Walmart Proposal, Couple Allegedly Shoplifts Sex Toys And Jewelry

Ah, love.

On Dec. 30, 2015, William Cornelius, 25, decided to propose to his girlfriend, Sheri Moore, 20, with a $29.62 ring he purchased from a Walmart in Bay City, Michigan. Cornelius popped the question using the store’s PA system, and Moore said yes.

The couple then decided to celebrate their engagement by allegedly shoplifting from a Spencer’s store in the Bay City Mall.

Undersheriff Troy Cunningham told The Smoking Gun that Cornelius was found with a stolen “Bride-to-Be” thong, a vibrator, oral sex candy and an edible thong after he fell sleep at a table in the food court. The items were worth a total of $80.93.

Cornelius told authorities he stole the items for his new fiancee.

Moore was found to have jewelry stolen from Walmart in her possession and, although she initially said she wasn't the thief and refused to name Cornelius as the culprit, she eventually placed the blame on her new fiance.

Cornelius is facing retail fraud charges and is currently on probation for partaking in a 2014 attack on three black men. Moore has another case open against her for larceny because she allegedly stole a cell phone in September 2015.

Cornelius is due back in court on Jan. 29.
