An alleged “abortion contract” between NBA player J.J. Redick and his one-time girlfriend Vanessa Lopez was revealed by MediaTakeOut, and as you would expect, the document has caused some uproar.
The contract was drafted in 2007 and detailed how Lopez’s abortion would proceed and what the relationship between her and Redick would be like thereafter.
Requirements of the abortion include proof of abortion, direct access to Lopez’s medical files and records of the clinic, the name of the hospital the abortion was performed at and access to Lopez’s post-abortion exam.
Redick also agreed to attempt a one-year relationship with Lopez following the abortion, and put a price on the relationship by promising to pay $25,000 if he chose to invalidate the relationship agreement.
The contract concludes by stipulating that if any contact is made following the relationship, it will be considered stalking.
Lopez has also been in legal battles with Kenyon Martin and Shaquille O’Neal. In 2010, Lopez filed a suit for harassment after her alleged five-year affair with O’Neal. Martin accused Lopez of stealing his credit card and going on a shopping spree.
Redick describes himself as a Christian, husband and foodie on his Twitter profile.
The NBA star has played for Orlando Magic, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers.
