A 9-year-old supermodel, dubbed “the most beautiful girl in the world,” has drawn the attention of several fashion designers and brands, and social media users.
Kristina Pimenova, who was born in Moscow, first stepped onto the catwalk when she was 3 years old, and has already been the face of brands including Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Benetton, the Daily Mail reports. She also graced the covers of prestigious fashion magazines, like Vogue Bambini, when she was 7.
According to the Daily Mirror, she is the daughter of retired Russian soccer player Ruslan Pimenov and former model Glikeriya Shirokova.
But critics are worried that the girl is being sexualized, with commenters referring to her as a “babe” and admiring her “long legs.”
“You are sexifying your daughter and parents like you are the reason why girls grow up to have many issues... also there are so many sick ppl out their that look at these in sexually ways,” writes one commenter.
“Creepy pic for a child,” another wrote about a candid shot of Kristina wearing leopard print pants. One user, who appeared to be male, replied: “I like it.”
But Glikeriya Shirokova insists that she closely monitors all her daughter’s social media accounts and deletes inappropriate comments. She is also in charge of regularly posting both professional and candid photos of Kristina on the sites.
The Facebook page lists “rules,” including: “All the content shared on this page should be kid friendly.”
She adds: “Any video or pictures posted here that is not appropriate for Kristina's age will be deleted and whoever posted it will be blocked. Kristina’s pictures cannot be used for role playing.”
