A 9-year-old girl named Lexi was recently faced with a very tough decision: She could either be honest with her parents, or preserve their innocence for just a little bit longer.
You see, Lexi figured out a long time ago that the tooth fairy was not real. It wasn’t particularly difficult. After all, as she herself so eloquently put it, “I’m sorry if this is hard for you, but I’m 9 now.” But her parents didn’t know that she knew, and that is what created the dilemma.
Ultimately, Lexi decided that honesty was the best policy. She wrote this note for the tooth fairy and hoped for the best. The tooth fairy eventually found the letter and enjoyed it so much that she decided to post it on Reddit.
Take a look:
Dear "Tooth Fairy,"
I don't believe in the tooth fairy any more. I know it's you who gets the money and puts it under my pillow, mom and dad. I'm sorry if this is hard for you, but I'm 9 now. (P.S.) I don't believe in Santa Claus either.
P.S. Daddy, I knew it was you last Easter, hiding my Easter eggs!
Nothing -- and we mean nothing -- gets past Lexi.
