9-Year-Old Brendan Haas Gives Disney Trip to Family of Fallen Soldier

In Kingston, Massachusetts, 9-year-old Brendan Haas decided to trade his way up to a trip to Disney World and then give the trip to a family of a fallen soldier.

While it may sound far-fetched, that's exactly what he did.

Haas told WHDH-TV: “We heard about the guy how he traded a red paper clip up until he got a house and we wanted to do something."

Back in February, Haas created a Facebook page called "Soldier for a Soldier."

Haas started with a toy soldier, which he traded. The trades got bigger and better until he got tickets to Disney World, air fare, a stay at the Disney Villas and almost $900 in Disney gift certificates.

The family of a fallen soldier, to get the trip, was chosen randomly over Memorial Day weekend. Haas recently announced that Lieutenant Timothy Steele’s family, from Duxbury, Massachusetts, had won the raffle.

Haas arrived at Steele’s family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts home to deliver the good news. Timothy Steele was killed last August in Afghanistan. He was 25 years old.
