5 Tons of Nutella Stolen in Germany

In what will undoubtedly go down as one of the more historic heists ever recorded, a band of unknown German thieves made away with more than five tons of Nutella this past weekend.

Little is known about this ingenious robbery right now, however, in total the bandits stole about $20,000 worth of the chocolate-hazelnut spread.

According to Fox News, the local news-agency that originally reported on this crime noted that in the past a load of energy drinks had been taken from the very same location in the central German town of Bad Hersfeld.

Nutella isn’t just a prized commodity overseas, though.

You will recall, a month ago Columbia University in New York revealed that the school regularly spends as much as $5,000 per week on Nutella because students continuously steal the spread.
