Police arrested a married 35-year-old substitute teacher and mother Jan. 3 for allegedly engaging in sexual relations with a 14-year-old boy in Florida.
Court documents state the boy’s father called the police after finding condoms and inappropriate messages sent to the teacher, Sara Moore, the Daily Mail reports.
“I just want to be with you” and “I don't want you for a mom, I want you” are just a few of the teenager boy’s messages discovered by his parents.
On Jan. 4 Osceola County School District fired the woman, who has worked with them for three years. She substituted for various schools in the district, most recently employed in a health class at St. Cloud Middle School, News 13 Orlando reports.
After the discovery, the boy told his parents the affair “'was not her fault, and he “did not want to ruin her life.”
However, Moore says the boy is like an “adopted son” to police and refuses to provide a DNA sample or comment on the allegations.
She is currently in jail on no bond.
Family and friends defend Moore, with Moore’s mother pleading the public suspend judgment, claiming she didn’t actually commit these crimes.
"It has not been proven that she's done anything wrong, and she did not," said Moore's mother, reports WKMG. "You know what, she's innocent until she is proven guilty. Don't make it look otherwise. She's a good, lovely person. You ask anybody that knows her."
Meanwhile, neighbors describe Moore and her husband as a pious couple.
Moore and the boy met one year ago at St. Cloud Middle School. It is unclear if the boy was Moore’s student.
The 14-year-old befriended her children and even went on vacation with them to California later.
Police believe they became sexual in October and have charged her on 10 counts of sexual battery.
The boy revealed to police they had 25 sexual encounters in the back of Moore’s car and in her daughter’s bedroom.
“I can’t even believe I am hearing about this,” Bryana Olarte, a local resident said. “I really wish (this) wasn’t true at all.”
