302-Pound Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Burger King Worker Over Onion Rings

It seems Burger King's “Have it Your Way” slogan may have gone straight to the heads of some customers. Just ask Framon Frasier, the Santee, South Carolina, Burger King employee assaulted by a man due to an apparent argument over onion rings.

A South Carolina man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly striking the Burger King employee in the head with a food tray after having a dispute over cold onion rings. Santee police officers responded to Burger King on Britain Street at 12:16 p.m. on Jan. 29 in reference to an assault.

Officers met with the complainant, 34-year-old Frasier, who said a female customer placed an order, saying she did not want onion rings that were in the food warmer because they would be cold, the report said.

Frasier told her he would not serve cold onion rings to her, the report said. He also told officers the woman was accompanied by a man who suggested she request a refund.

Again, Frasier tried to explain that he would not serve cold onion rings. At that point, the male subject told him to “not be disrespecting my girlfriend.”

Frasier asked the woman if he was disrespecting her, and that’s when her male companion struck the employee in the head with a food tray and broke his glasses. The pair then quickly left Burger King in a red vehicle.

Kristopher Wiggins, 32, was arrested last week in connection with the January 29 confrontation at the fast food restaurant in the town of Santee (pop. 955). Free on a $5000 personal recognizance bond, Wiggins is set for a March 20 trial on the misdemeanor charge.

According to police, the 302-pound Wiggins became “loud and boisterous and did throw a food tray and food items” at Burger King worker, Framon Frasier, whose glasses were broken when he was clobbered with the tray.

A Santee Police Department report notes that the 5' 11" assailant--believing that his girlfriend had been “disrespectful”--struck Frasier “in the head with a food tray and broke his glasses.”

As part of Wiggins’s release terms, a Municipal Court judge has ordered him not to return to Burger King.
