2 Pit Bulls Attack 25-Year-Old California Woman, Samantha Williams

A 25-year-old Stockton, California, woman was hospitalized after a pair of Pit Bulls brutally attacked her while she was visiting her boyfriend, who stays at the home of the dogs’ owner.

Samantha Williams isn't sure when she'll be able to walk on her own again, much less leave the hospital. She sustained bruises, bite marks, and more than 100 stitches all over her body, reported News10/KXTV.

There are reportedly 16 dogs living at the home on the 1400 block of East Walnut Street where the attack took place, RecordNet reports, most believed to be Chihuahuas. Pat Claerbout, supervisor of the Stockton Police Department's Animal Services, said the city allows only three dogs per property.

"These dogs had always been okay with me before, but we still watched them, but I didn't realize that there was no one else in the house," Samantha Williams explained.

She said her boyfriend, Anthony Morel, 36, had gone to a nearby store and she was in the bedroom when the two male Pit Bulls, Rhino and Baby, came in.

"The dog came in the room, barked, and the littler dog that looks just like him jolted at me, and then that's when the big one barked," Williams told News10/KXTV, motioning as if the other dog attacked. It was like one dog ordering the other to attack her, she described.

Williams managed to get outside but was bleeding profusely. When Morel came out of the store, he told RecordNet he heard her screaming his name and he immediately ran to the house.

Morel said when he saw the dog bites and that she was bleeding so badly, he ripped off his shirt and wrapped it around her leg to try to stop the blood, and then ran in to get some rags to try to control the bleeding from her other wounds.

"She was hysterical. She didn't want me to leave her. I told her, 'I'm not going to leave you for nothing.' She said, 'Don't let me die,' Morel told RecordNet.

Jason White, who owns the dogs, blames the attack on the fact that Samantha was alone in the house. He told reporters he “felt bad” about the attack by the Pit Bulls; however, he had warned her not to be alone with them, he said.

He described the nature of his dogs, "I can't help that. That's their natural instincts. I didn't train them to do that." He said animal control had impounded and dogs and he hopes to have them returned to him in 10 days.

"They're pretty cool dogs, but it's all on the owner," her boyfriend, Anthony Morel said in the News10/KXTV interview, "No matter what dog it is, poodle, whatever."

Animal Services Supervisor Pat Claerbout said both Pit Bulls wereunlicensed and with no record of vaccination against rabies. The dogs will be held in quarantine for 10 days while an investigation is conducted to determine if any charges will be brought against the owner by the District Attorney, according to RecordNet.
