15-Year-Old Wyoming Boy Shoots, Kills Would-Be Abductor

A 15-year-old boy shot and killed a man after he tried to abduct a woman in Wright, Wyo., Campbell County sheriff’s officials say.

The shooting happened on the evening of Wednesday.

According to The Gillette News Record, Sammy Michael Fears, 48, of Casper, Wyo., allegedly tried to abduct the woman from her home in Wright. However, when sheriff’s officials arrived on the scene, they found Fears in the driveway, suffering from a gun shot wound.

Sheriff’s deputies performed CPR on Fears until paramedics came and took him to a local hospital, but he died on the way in an ambulance, according to the Star-Tribune.

It’s not clear how the teen got involved in the altercation. According to reports, the boy is not related to either the woman or Fears.

The woman had a long history of domestic violence with Fears, Sheriff’s Cpl. Gary Sams says.

Due to the boy’s age his identity has not been released, but he has not been charged, the Record reports.
