Three women were reportedly found dead inside an estate in the upscale town of Rancho Santa Fe, California on June 27. Located near San Diego, it is one of the nation’s wealthiest communities; Howard Hughes, Bing Crosby and Bill Gates are among those who have called it home.
The deceased are Hanna Arya, 15, real estate agent Mia Shin, 56, and Sayeh Amini, 48, according to KFMB.
Hannah was a student at a boarding school in Arizona called the Verde Valley School. Amini was Hannah's aunt. Shin was a successful Los Angeles real estate agent.
The identities of the victims have not been officially disclosed by the police, who have indicated that it appears to be a case of murder-suicide.
The home where the deaths occurred was owned by Hannah’s father, Michael Arya, a wealthy real estate broker who had recently died of cancer. He had reportedly been living there with his Russian girlfriend Marina Ryzhkova, who moved back to Russia following his death, reports the Daily Mail.
According to what a family friend told KFMB, there was a dispute between Hannah and her aunt following the death of the father. The dispute was allegedly over his will and burial.
Cyrus Moinzaeh, identified as close friend of the father, told a local NBC affiliate that "there were maybe some arguments about how he split the estate," the Daily Mail notes. Various neighbors also offered various speculations about what happened at the house.
Shin was reportedly a long-time friend of Michael's before his death.
Deputies found the bodies while responding to a report of alleged child abuse at the residence, according to Lt. Kenn Nelson of the San Diego Sheriff's Department. Nelson said the cause of the deaths was "unclear" but noted that "obvious trauma" was involved.
In a message sent to Dinesh D'Souza, a political commentator and author who was reportedly much admired by Hannah, Hannah’s mother, who is divorced from her father, said her daughter is now with Jesus.
