12-Year-Old Reginald Wells Knocked Out By Teacher After Making Fun Of Teacher’s Favorite Football Team

A seventh-grade student says a teacher punched him in the face at school after he joked about the teacher’s favorite football team. The student claims he was knocked out and the teacher was reportedly fired.

The incident reportedly took place at the Willie Ray Smith Middle School in Beaumont, Texas.

Reginald Wells apparently stopped in the hallway to talk with an assistant teacher in his math class. Wells apparently cracked a joke about the teacher’s favorite football team and things took an ugly turn.

"All of a sudden he just hit me, in my shoulder... and I looked at him like 'what the heck?'" Wells told 12News.

Wells, who stands just 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 80 pounds, says he then pushed the shoulder’s shoulder before the teacher punched him in the face, knocking him out for a few seconds.

"The left side of my face was numb... my lip hurt... my head was hurt, like it had been shaken," Wells stated.

The school’s principal told Wells’ mother Adrianne what took place, based on what another teacher said he saw. Adrianne says the teacher was escorted off the premises and fired on the spot.

The teacher was not arrested and Adrianne doesn’t know why. She filed a report with the Beaumont Independent School District Police Department and wants to press charges.

"For you to just let a teacher do that to him and just walk off, he's fired and walks off, I can't accept that," Adrianne stated.
