A 10-year-old girl was arrested for allegedly attempting to travel to Syria to join ISIS.
The girl was part of a group of 6 people who authorities believe were all boarding a plane from the Indonesian capital of Jakarta to fight alongside Islamic State militants. As they were boarding the flight, which was headed to Qatar, they were caught and arrested by Indonesian authorities. Those in the group range in age from 10 to 46 years old.
The incident comes following reports that a large number of Western teenage girls have fled to Syria to marry ISIS militants and become jihadi brides.
The group has yet to be charged with a crime, though authorities reportedly questioned a man at the house where the group was staying and an investigation is ongoing.
According to Mirror Online, it is estimated that dozens of Indonesians have fled to Syria to join the extremist group, and have supposedly discussed forming a unit of the Islamic State made up entirely of Indonesian and Malaysian militants. Indonesia has the largest population of Muslims in the world.
