An unidentified 13-year-old girl was reportedly raped by as many as 13 men, who cheered each other on and recorded the assaults on video.
According to an Austin, Texas, police report, the girl ran away from the Settlement Home for Children on June 3 and was picked up by three men. Then she was taken to an apartment and raped by a larger group of men for "several hours” (video below).
Juan Ortega and Edgar Perez were arrested on Wednesday, reports My Fox Austin. Police found Ortega and Perez because one of them allowed the girl to use his cell phone to call her foster brother, who saved the phone number on his caller ID.
The victim claims Ortega raped her as the other men cheered him and recorded the assault on their cell phones. One by one, the men took turns sexually assaulting the child.
The girl says after the assaults she was dumped in a nearby neighborhood and told to "find somewhere to go." The girl found her way to a police department where a forensic exam appeared to back up her account.
If convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child, Ortega and Perez could be sentenced to life in prison. Police are still searching for additional suspects.
