A pair of deputies from Brevard County, Florida, received praise for assisting a family that seemed to be down on its luck.

Two police officers in the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Sean Cronin and Field Training Officer Anthony Gonnelly, noticed that a mother and her family were going through hard times during a stop for a minor traffic violation in Cocoa, Florida, WOFL reported.

The officers then decided to help the struggling family out. 

They contacted the county's Community Services Team to ask for help in obtaining a car seat and purchasing household groceries for the family.

Two staff members helped them find a car seat and then went grocery shopping.

The items were delivered to the grateful family later that same day.

Although the car seat was donated, the officers reportedly paid for the groceries out of their own pockets.

"It is actions like this and many others that make me so proud of the men and women of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office who do everything they can to protect our community," Sheriff Wayne Ivey wrote in a post on the department's Facebook page.

Commenters responding to the post praised the officers' thoughtful actions.

"Thank you to the deputies and the CSU team for doing the right thing and helping someone in need," one person wrote.

"Thanks to very these awesome deputies!!!" another commented. "Just shows what they are made of...Very compassionate and caring!!"

In the case of the Filet-O-Fish, the sandwich is made with wild-caught Alaska pollock. Like many saltwater species—including cod, flounder, and halibut—pollock can occasionally host a type of microscopic roundworm known as a Nematode.

Online commenters with seafood industry experience quickly chimed in on the viral post. Some users pointed out that anyone who regularly eats wild seafood has almost certainly encountered these parasites before—whether they noticed them or not.

While the discovery might not be the most appetizing thought, experts say properly cooked fish containing these organisms is not considered dangerous. Health guidelines state that seafood heated to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit effectively neutralizes parasites. Because McDonald’s prepares its Filet-O-Fish patties using deep-frying methods, the cooking process easily surpasses that threshold.

Ironically, the presence of such parasites can sometimes serve as proof that the fish was harvested from the wild rather than farmed.

Still, there are situations where parasites in seafood can pose health concerns. Dishes that involve raw or lightly prepared fish—such as sushi or ceviche—can carry a small risk if the fish hasn’t been frozen or treated properly beforehand. In those cases, parasites like nematodes can lead to a condition called Anisakiasis, which may cause stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and digestive discomfort.

That risk, however, does not apply to fully cooked seafood products like the Filet-O-Fish.

For its part, McDonald’s has emphasized that it follows strict food safety standards across its supply chain. The company told reporters that the fish patties undergo multiple inspections and quality checks throughout processing and preparation to ensure they meet safety requirements before reaching customers.

A Russian woman who was on holiday in the Dominican Republic died following an accident as she was hanging out of the passenger side window as the driver recorded her stunt on a mobile phone.

35 year old Natalia Borodina was nude except for her bikini bottom, with the upper half of her body handing out the window as she played to the camera.

The mother-of-one is seen in the video playfully sticking her finger in her mouth just moments before she hit a lamp post.

The incident took place on a highway near Punta Cana, and the video was recorded by 32-year-old Ivanna Boirachuk, Natalia’s friend and the person believed to be driving at the time.

According to Russian media reports, Natalia sustained serious injuries and succumbed after she was rushed to hospital.

Her son, who was about eight years old, was also in the Dominican Republic.

Natalia was originally from Zlatoust, an industrial city in the Urals, but she relocated to regional capital Chelyabinsk before moving to Moscow.

At the time of her death, she had been working in Cannes, France, as a luxury estate agent - selling properties to wealthy Russian buyers.

Friends said that her family knew about Natalia’s gruesome death.

After spotting them on her TV at home, the wife reportedly decided to take swift action and confront the couple at the game. She and her mother rushed to the stadium and angrily grabbed the mistress' hair, dragging her out to the street. As the wife continued to assault and yell profanities at the mistress, the husband was able to make his escape.

Later, the wife, the mistress, and the mother were seen getting into a taxi.
