Addison Barnes, a senior at Liberty High School, wore a "Donald J. Trump Border Wall Construction Co." shirt to class, which had scheduled a discussion of immigration issues later that day. The shirt read: "The wall just got 10 feet taller," quoting Donald Trump.

According to the lawsuit, Barnes was summoned by a school official who told him that a teacher and at least one student had taken offense because of the shirt. He was then asked to either cover the shirt or go home. Barnes chose to go home. His absence was marked as a suspension, but was later rescinded.

In a statement issued by his lawyers, Barnes said, "I brought this case to stand up for myself and other students who might be afraid to express their right-of-center views."

The Hillsboro School District reached a settlement with Barnes lawyers, requiring that the district pay $25,000 for attorney fees, and that the principal had to write an apology.

Liberty High School’s student body is one-third Hispanic, and a number of family members have already been deported. Students have had sit-in protests regarding the immigration policies, and there have been a number of racially motivated incidents.

The school district said, "Liberty High School administration believed they could reasonably forecast that Mr. Barnes' shirt might cause other students to feel unsafe and could potentially lead to walkouts, altercations, or other disruptive actions. [School administrators] acted out of an abundance of caution on behalf of the student body to ensure safety."

Barnes stated that his First Amendment right to free speech had been violated, and that he’d been singled out because he was a Trump supporter.

He said, "Everyone knows that if a student wears an anti-Trump shirt to school, the teachers won't think twice about it. But when I wore a pro-Trump shirt, I got suspended. That's not right."

On May 29, a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order barring the school from banning Barnes from wearing the shirt. The judge maintained that the censorship was not justified.

Mike McLane, a Republican member of the Oregon Legislature and a partner with Lynch Conger McLane, said: "Political speech, whether popular or not, is protected by the Constitution."

In a statement, Brad Benbrook, one of Barnes' attorneys, said "Addison Barnes should be commended for his courage. The message on his shirt wasn't the point of this case. We brought the case to police the thought police. The First Amendment does not allow what is going on in too many schools today."

The school district stated that they chose not to contest the lawsuit because it would have been costly and disruptive, and instead decided to compromise.

A Nebraska bar has adopted a creative reward system to thank patrons who don’t drink and drive

Union Bar and Grill in Gering puts a letter on the windshield of cars left in the lot overnight after their owners have a few drinks. The letter is good for a free burger and fries. The bar has been using this system for several years.

A woman whose husband got the letter posted it on Facebook, garnering over 24k likes and over 53k shares. Janelle Martin stated that she posted the letter because she considers it a good example of a bar trying to keep people safe.

Scott Swanson, who owns the bar with his wife, Carla, stated that they’ve received Facebook messages from people across the country thanking him following Martin’s post. He added that most messages were from people who’d lost a loved one to a drunken driver. “It’s a $7 burger, and if it keeps someone out of jail or keeps someone from killing someone, it’s damn well worth it,” he said.

Swanson stated that his wife came up with the idea two years ago after she saw something online about a bar making a similar proposition to customers. He stated that he leaves the letters on windshields on weekend mornings, when eight to 10 cars belonging to customers are in the parking lot. He revealed that he doesn’t leave the letters every weekend. He hopes that other bars will adopt the idea.

The letter reads: “Dear Union Bar and Grill Park Guest, Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight. I’m not sure if you consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we want to thank you for not drinking and driving. Bring this letter to the bar and we will give you a hamburger and French fries. Please accept this as a thank you for being responsible. Life is valuable, have a great day.”

When asked how many patrons take up the free food offer, Swanson said: “100 percent.”

When Britney Tankersley’s son, Myles, told her that he wanted to match with his classmate for the school’s “Twin Day,” she got annoyed by the last-minute request. It was 8 p.m., and she didn’t know who the classmate was, or his mother’s number, and she didn’t have matching clothes for them.

She managed to track down the other mother after an hour and mother and son went to a Walmart to buy shirts for the boys, settling on “Future Leader” button-downs, which she said were "the only decent shirts left" in the boys’ sizes.

Speaking to TODAY, Tankersley stated: "He went on and on about how they looked exactly the same. 'We both have brown eyes, we both have dark hair,' and he was just adamant ... so I head to Walmart and I'm like, irritated. I'm like, this is too late. I'm too old for this."

When she sent Myles off to kindergarten that morning, she asked his teacher if she could please send a photo of Myles and his twin if she could. Myles had kept insisting that they were identical, and she wanted to see the resemblance. The picture she got from the teacher made her cry.

"I was basically crying because it was so sweet," she said. "Obviously, I know that they don't look alike at all. But he didn't see that, you know? I expect to get a picture of another white child with light skin and brown hair, whatever, but I didn't get that at all. And I said, 'That is the sweetest thing in the whole world.'"

She posted the picture on her personal Facebook page, where it quickly garnered over 200k shares.

"It's so crazy," she added. "My objective is never to be in the spotlight, but I think the message is more important than how much it exploded."

According to Tankersley, Myles and Tanner are "the best of buddies," and because they live just a few minutes away from each other, the families have spent time together since Twin Day.

"All the teachers at school are so excited," she added. "There's always a lot of kids that dress up that don't look alike, but this was unique. I was kind of put in my place because I was expecting to see something totally different, and that's not what it was at all."

A police officer taunted a young man who shot at him and his son by giving him a bottle of lubricant for prison (video below).

Kevin Rojas was appearing in court to be sentenced to life in prison for the attempted murder of the unidentified officer when the officer began taunting him.

"I will take those bullets instead of a fellow officer or innocent bystander," the officer told Rojas, who ambushed him while he was riding in an unmarked car with his son. "When I brought the fight back, you ran like a coward."

The officer told 21-year-old Rojas that he "brought a little gift" for him.

"You will need it where you are going," the officer said, WJAX reported. He then pulled out a bottle of KY lubricant.

Many readers applauded the officer for being brave enough to confront the man who attempted to kill him.

"Too bad the cop [didn't] take out his weapon in the courtroom and kill that piece of s**t right there save taxpayers a lot of money," one reader commented on Facebook.

"I shouldn’t laugh, but that is priceless. It’s good the creep didn’t kill anyone and that the teenage son wasn’t injured," another wrote.

"Good for that cop, a very appropriate going away present for the thug. Awesome," another added.

Rojas, The Florida Times-Union reported, was sentenced after being found guilty of attempted first-degree murder, attempted manslaughter, two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing, and grand theft auto.

"I don't blame the cop. This clown wrecked his life for nothing. The judge did the right thing. This nut cannot be lose. When he is 60, if he lives that long, he may be better. If they can let him out then, maybe. I would not lose much sleep over it for now," one Times-Union reader commented.

Some readers criticized the officer for taunting the criminal, despite the fact that he tried to kill the policeman.

"A real professional that officer. You may be frustrated however you have no integrity nor honor in your use of a gimmick, stupid one at best, during your [speech] at sentencing of this thug. Hope the department sees what you really are," one reader commented.

Others called for a harsher punishment for Rojas.

"A life sentence makes no sense. Anyone dangerous enough to be imprisoned for life should simply be [swiftly] terminated instead of remaining a drag on society for years to come," one reader commented.

When Valarie Watts delivered her stillborn son in July, she was heartbroken. Still grieving, she decided to part with most of the items she’d bought in anticipation of bringing Noah home.

However, she was unwilling to let go of the white crib, and decided to exclude it from the garage sale she held last month. However, when retiree Gerald Kumpula saw it, he asked to buy it.

28-year-old Watts hesitated, but finally relented when she heard that 75-year-old Gerald was a craftsman who made benches from secondhand footboards and headboards.

“I was a little bit at peace with it because he’d be making something nice,” Watts said. She parted with it for $2.

Watts had a conversation with Lorene, Gerald’s wife, and she shared her heartbreaking story after Lorene saw the newborn clothes at the sale and asked Watts how old her son was.

On the way home, Lorene shared Watts’ story with Gerald. The Kumpulas, who have 15 kids and dozens of grandchildren, knew that the crib belonged with Watts. A week later, the couple delivered a bench to Watts made from the crib.

Speaking to TODAY.com, Watts said: “It’s beautiful. I thought, ‘There’s still kind people out there.'”

She placed the bench in her living room, where she can remember Noah.

“I’m overwhelmed with joy that it’s not just sitting somewhere unused,” she said. “Now I can sit in it, hold his bear, think about him if I need to.”

Watts had felt less fetal movement in the final days of her full-term pregnancy, and Noah was delivered on July 22 via cesarean section, just hours Watts and fiancé Jimi Hamblin learned that there was no heartbeat. According to doctors, the umbilical cord became compressed, depriving Noah of oxygen.

The Kumpulas, whose first granddaughter was stillborn, understood Watts’ pain better than most.

“An unused crib is a sad reminder,” Gerald said. “A bench is more of a memorial. It’s part of that sad happening, yet it’s not a reminder like a crib would be, an empty crib.”

Watts offered to pay him, but Gerald refused.

“It’s just nice to be able to do something for someone. It’s nice to help people,” he said.

Watts has a 7-year-old daughter, Nevaeh, and will be marrying Hamblin this fall. She stated that the bench - which sits near a corner bookcase that holds Noah’s photos, his handprints, footprints, and ashes - is helping her cope with grief.

“In a way, when I’m sitting in it, I feel comforted by his presence, even though he’s not here,” Watts, a babysitter, said. “It’s like a peaceful, it’s-OK type feeling. When I feel down, I can sit on the bench and I feel OK, everything’s going to be OK.”

A waitress in Colorado used social media to teach a lesson about working in America.

When Taylar Cordova received a tip for $0 on a bill of $187.43, she took a picture of the receipt and posted it to Facebook, reports Mic. Her post was accompanied by a passionate and articulate commentary about working as a server.

“You are the lowest of the low,” she wrote, speaking not just to the customer who stiffed her, but also to anyone who does not tip. Then she continued with an explanation of the consequences of diners not adding proper gratuity to their bill:

Whenever you feel like it's probably fine to not tip your server, that's one more bill stacking up because they're short on money. This is food for the week that our families will go without because you didn't think it was necessary, even after asking for everything under the sun and receiving it free of charge, mind you. This is one less basic necessity my daughter needs because even TWO more dollars is too much for you.

Every decision has a consequence. Servers are paid a base pay of $2-5/hr depending on the employer, so next time you don't want to tip, regardless of the situation prior to receiving your bill, think about how much you would have to work that week off $2-5/hr to feed your family, not just you. Could you pay your bills based on that pay alone? Could you feed your family AND yourself? Because that's what happens when you choose to not tip.

Her facts are backed up by the U.S. Department of Labor, which explains that “An employer of a tipped employee is only required to pay $2.13 per hour in direct wages if that amount combined with the tips received at least equals the federal minimum wage.”

Cordova’s post concludes with a piece of advice. “Don't even bother walking into a restaurant if you can't afford to tip,” she wrote. “There's a McDonald's down the street if you're that cheap.”

A Mississippi K9 is being hailed a hero after he saved the life of his partner, Hancock Sherriff’s Deputy Todd Frazier, during an ambush attack.

A manhunt was launched for three suspects who beat Deputy Frazier and cut him with a box cutter.

Speaking to the Clarion-Ledger, Chief Deputy Don Bass said: "They told him they were going to slit his throat, and they were dragging him toward the woods."

However, Lucas, a black Belgian Malinois, chased the suspects before they could carry out their threat.

According to authorities, Frazier activated the button that opens his vehicle’s door and released Lucas. Sherriff Ricky Adam stated that Lucas bit at least one, possibly two, of the assailants.

"We don't know how many he got, we just know he had blood all over him," he told the Clarion-Ledger.

The attack occurred after Frazier got out of his vehicle to inspect a blue Lincoln Town car with a darker vinyl top that was parked at a rest stop. The car’s lights were off, and the driver appeared to be alone.

"When he got out, two other people came out of the woods right by the vehicle, and he backed up and fell, and it was on then," Sherriff Adam told the Clarion-Ledger.

A New York police K-9 was caught on video taking down a man who punched a cop in the face.

23 year old Randy Martinez, a resident of Newburgh, stated that he was leaving his house with a friend when a man, who was later identified as 31 year old Tony Mann, walked onto his driveway and threatened him with a knife.

Martinez told the Times Herald-Record: “I rolled down the window and was going to tell him he can’t be on my property, and then he takes out his knife, and I’m just like, ‘Oh, God, no. What’s going to happen?’" He added that he called police because he was "so scared," and that his loved ones were still in the house, and that he started filming the scene when police arrived.

In the video, an officer is seen trying to talk to Mann, who made strange movements before punching Roman Scuadroni, a Newburgh police officer. Scuadroni took a moment then opened the door of his patrol car and let out his K-9 partner, Lee.

Lee pounced on the suspect and chomped down on his arm as Scuadroni put his arms around Mann's neck to restrain him. Mann was ultimately forced to the ground.

Another officer then arrived on the scene to help with the arrest, all while Lee was still on Mann. Lee was eventually pulled off by Scuardroni, who only suffered minor cuts and injures.

Investigators stated that they found a folding knife on Mann, who was taken to the emergency room to be treated for a minor dog bite.

He was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, third-degree assault, obstructing governmental administration and second-degree menacing.

Katie Leach was having a meal at a restaurant with her family when she received a nasty note from diners who claimed her 10-month old-son “ruined” their dinner with his screaming.

Leach, a Nampa, Idaho, resident, stated that Drew’s “new thing” was yelling.

In a Facebook post, she wrote: "He will yell when I tell him no, when he's super excited and happy or just for no reason at all. I'm doing my best to teach him indoor voice and to not yell back at me when telling him no etc. But he is only 10 (almost 11 months) and LEARNING."

She stated that they were at Texas Roadhouse in Nampa when Drew began yelling on and off.

"He had been screaming off and on just with everybody as they were singing happy birthday. And when one of the waitresses would come up, he'd scream to tell them hi," she said. "We all tried quieting him down which a majority of the time he did, but he also was so excited to be around all the commotion. He was not yelling to be mean or because he was mad, it was purely from excitement and being happy."

She stated that about halfway through their meal, two diners in "their late 50's or early 60's," slammed a note on the table between Leach and Drew. The women then walked back to their table, which was behind Leach's.

The note read: "Thank you for ruining our dinner with your screaming kid. Sincerely, the table behind you."

She approached the table and explained to the women that she was teaching her son how to behave at the table, and referenced the fact that he was young and still learning. However, the women told her that they had grandchildren, and that they never behaved like that. Leach stated that she could have understood their complaints if Drew was older and knew better.

She said: "He's so young. He barely understands now. I mean he's starting to learn that when we tell him no that means to tone it down, which he was doing."

She said that she wished the women could have handled things differently.

According to Leach, the manager of the restaurant apologized for the diners’ rudeness, and told the women that they could finish their dinner, but they had to leave quietly.

She stated that the manager comped their meal and told her that her family was welcome to the restaurant anytime.

Travis Doster, a spokesman for Texas Roadhouse, addressed the incident: “We’re in the hospitality business. We want all our guests to have a great experience. We were voted one of the loudest restaurants by Consumer Reports. We are proud to be loud. If you want to hear clinking wine glasses and clinking forks, then this probably isn’t the place for you.”

A Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, firefighter went from having a normal work day to having his life changed forever when he decided to adopt a baby he delivered on an emergency call.

Marc Hadden said his day started like any other and continued to be relatively slow. Suddenly, he got an emergency call about a woman suffering from abdominal pain, according to Today. When he arrived on the scene, Hadden discovered the woman was in labor.

"It was a pretty serious call for us," Hadden said. "We got her on some oxygen, started some IVs and literally as we were getting ready to leave the parking lot in the ambulance, my partner said, 'We're about to deliver a baby right here.' We had no time to prepare. Before we could do anything -- we hadn't even cut her clothes -- Gracie came right out. Immediately she was handed to me."

Gracie, the girl Hadden delivered, was put up for adoption the same day she was born. Her mother was reportedly homeless and could not take care of her. Hadden and his wife, Beth, jumped at the chance to adopt the little girl.

Two days later, the family took Rebecca Grace Hadden home with them, and soon after they were granted full custody.

"She's amazing," Hadden told Today about his now 5-year-old daughter. "She takes gymnastics, she's getting ready to start kindergarten next year at the school where my wife teaches. She's a pretty remarkable kid."

The couple, who already had two sons at the time, said the boys love their sister.

"Most days it's business as usual, getting Gracie to day care or gymnastics or soccer," he added. "Every once in a while it will hit us, usually when we're out on a date night, 'Oh my gosh, my wife and I have been together for 15 years, we have three kids now!' Sometimes it's a bit overwhelming ... but we wouldn't trade it for anything."

Many readers praised the parents for adopting the little girl and giving her a good home, and also applauded the birth mother for doing the right thing.

"God put you there when she was born for a reason," one reader commented on the site's Facebook page. "It's so amazing how God works in our lives. This little baby now has the family she was meant to have."

Reverend Al Sharpton has raked $1,046,948 from his charity from the previous year based on the reports by the National Action Network’s latest tax filings.

He received a salary of $324,000 which is higher than his 2017 pay by 32%. In addition, he also has a bonus worth $159,596 and “other compensation” worth $563, 352.

Sharpton is also the president and CEO and controls the Harlem-based nonprofit. The extra cash is said to make up for when he didn’t get full pay last 2004 to 2017.

NAN also stated that an executive compensation firm was also hired to determine how much the reverend was owed. $1.252 million was then owed to Sharpton but the reverend was also willing to take $500,000 less.

Sharpton and the board of the nonprofit have also agreed that “he has now been fully compensated for all the years he was underpaid and received no bonus.”

The preacher, who is also well-known for being always being sharp-dressed and silver-tongued, defended the windfall before he went up the stage at his weekly rally at the House of Justice in Harlem. The event usually has attendees throw cash to the reverend’s collection bucket.

He stated, “Fifteen years, you are talking about since 2004 when I came back after running for president. For anybody else, it would be laughable.

Sharpton also said that he deserved the raise from 2018. He states, “It’s a six-day-a-week job and several hours a day and when [the compensation firm] compared it to other companies, other non profits, that’s the salary that they would get.”

But in the recent years, the MSNBC host and firebrand activist hasn’t exactly been earning minimum wage. The last year Sharpton went without a salary was back in 2008 and since then, he’s been making well into six figures every year according to the tax documents.

A woman’s act of kindness towards police officers in Slidell, Louisiana, went viral.

The Slidell Police Department took to Facebook to post a photo of a check from a local Outback Steakhouse where several officers reportedly dined.

The check included a message from Arline Wood, the restaurant’s manager, and Zoe Rao, a server.

“Be safe! Thank y'all for y'all's service. Enjoy your meal on us!" the note read, with the total on the check showing $0.00. The pair decided to pick up the $67 tab for the officers, who were visiting the restaurant on their lunch break.

“They're the sweetest guys, I enjoy waiting on them,” Rao told Fox 8.

“They care about the community, they care about everybody, they're just great guys, our whole police force is great and these guys at night, I went to Zoe and I said, let's take care of it,” Wood added.

The day after the incident, the department shared the photo on their Facebook page — something Wood and Rao weren’t expecting. Soon, it’d garnered over 1,000 shares.

“I got a phone call early in the morning and I was like what are you talking about? People were calling me and then we saw it on Facebook, then it's on this one and that one, and we didn't do it for this publicity, because lord knows I don't like all this publicity,” Wood said.

The department expressed their gratitude towards the pair in their post. The post added that the officers left a tip that covered the cost of the bill, in accordance with ethics laws and the department’s policy.

“Words can't describe how this makes all of us feel,” the post read. “Thank you Ms. Arlene and Zoe for being so kind and showing your appreciation for law enforcement.”

A transgender woman spent over $76,000 trying to attain the ideal female body after hiding the desire to change sexes for 40 years.

56 year old Fulvia Pellegrino has endured a round of arduous surgeries to attain her current appearance including over 150 lip and cheekbone fillers, four breast implants and two series of liposuction.

Pellegrino was born with the name Fulvio and has the full backing of her wife Marisa, reports Daily Mail.

Fulvia was only fifteen years old when she first recognized she was trans, but kept it a secret from her religious family, and father who was in the clergy.

“I was living with my family who were very narrow minded and very religious. I never manifested my will because it was impossible with my dad. He had three sons and he wanted three sons only,” she says.

Fulvia kept her anguish secret even when she met Marisa, 32 years ago.

Shortly after they married, Fulvia began frequenting gay bars and cross-dressing privately in her garage.

Fulvia disguised her distress and embellished her masculinity in public, purchasing firearms and owning luxurious cars.

Fulvia deced 16 years ago that she could no longer hide and admitted to Marisa that she wanted to transition.

She said: “Obviously Marisa lost if for a moment, it is not something that is easy to accept. Today Marisa and I are nothing more than two sisters. We live together, we argue like two normal people but not like husband and wife.”

When Fulvia started her transition by getting hormone therapy and researching plastic surgery, Marisa went to a psychologist to help her deal with her new life.

But Fulvia's parents were not as tolerant, declining to accept her in her new form and stopping her from attending her father’s funeral because they were ashamed.

“My dad asked my wife to sign a paper to send me into a psychiatric institution to make me change my mind,” Fulvia says.

In spite of her family's rejection, in 2004 Fulvia started to chase her “perfect” look with breast implants, a nose job and a face lift.

Three more breast surgeries were followed by liposuction, copious fillers in her cheeks and lips and a $32,000 butt lift, according to Mirror.

But Fulvia, who previously ran a restaurant but no longer works, had to sell her guns, cars and a house in France to pay for her expensive procedures.

Now the couple struggle on Marisa's income as a holistic therapist. And while Marisa has no qualms about supporting Fulvia's goal to attain her desired look, residents in their town of Peveragno have purposely excluded the couple.

“I am now the clown of Peveragno. They point at me, they talk about me, they start inventing stories about me that I am a prostitute. My friends have all vanished – they didn't accept me,” says Fulvia.

“I couldn't be without Marisa and do what I do without her. She is always here with me.”

But despite the hardships, Fulvia is anxious to carry on with her plastic surgery. “I want to look like Allanah Starr, an American transgender porn star,” she says.

“I won't stop here, I want to go ahead because it's not perfect. If I reach perfection maybe I will stop.”

There have been claims of America having a ‘free speech crisis’ where people are saying it's rampant on the internet and college campuses. The crisis involving seeing protesters being pepper-sprayed and social media posts being reported or even controlled.

This said crisis can be seen possibly anywhere in the United States, including Florida, where 23 year old Dillon Shane Webb was pulled over for a decal on his car. Webb was asked to pull over by a sheriff’s deputy in Lake City, who said his car sticker was derogatory.

Webb’s decal was plastered on the back window of his vehicle, which read in big, bold letters I Eat Ass. The arrested civilian disagreed with the officer’s classification of his decal, where he asked what was so derogatory about the sticker.

As a response, the deputy mentions a sample scene of a 10-year-old child who might see the decal and ask his mom what it means and how the parent is supposed to explain that. Webb responded back to the officer saying it was the parent’s job and not his, thinking the arrest for his decal was not warranted.

Webb was even asked if he could remove one of the letters “s” on the decal so instead of saying I Eat Ass it would read I Eat As. He was asked before the deputy made a move to arrest him, but when he did refuse, Webb was charged with resisting arrest and obscenity.

Andrew Bonderud, Webb’s attorney, says that his client's refusal to take down what he thought protected his right or freedom of speech was a show of bravery. He added in his statement that Webb showed courage on his part.

By Thursday, Webb’s charges were dropped, and a statement was released by John Foster Durrett, the Assistant State Attorney. In his statement, he indicated that the Defendant, Webb, had a valid defense to his arrest raised under the United States Constitution’s First Amendment.

A pair of deputies from Brevard County, Florida, received praise for assisting a family that seemed to be down on its luck.

Two police officers in the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Sean Cronin and Field Training Officer Anthony Gonnelly, noticed that a mother and her family were going through hard times during a stop for a minor traffic violation in Cocoa, Florida, WOFL reported.

The officers then decided to help the struggling family out. 

They contacted the county's Community Services Team to ask for help in obtaining a car seat and purchasing household groceries for the family.

Two staff members helped them find a car seat and then went grocery shopping.

The items were delivered to the grateful family later that same day.

Although the car seat was donated, the officers reportedly paid for the groceries out of their own pockets.

"It is actions like this and many others that make me so proud of the men and women of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office who do everything they can to protect our community," Sheriff Wayne Ivey wrote in a post on the department's Facebook page.

Commenters responding to the post praised the officers' thoughtful actions.

"Thank you to the deputies and the CSU team for doing the right thing and helping someone in need," one person wrote.

"Thanks to very these awesome deputies!!!" another commented. "Just shows what they are made of...Very compassionate and caring!!"

"So proud to be a resident of Brevard County where our sheriff's dept is always doing great things for our community," another posted.

The post received more than 2,000 likes and 400 shares in six days.

A billboard near the intersection of Route 4 and Bowie Shop Road in Huntingtown, Calvert County, has sparked controversy.

The sign shows President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in cartoon feces, and reads, "DON’T BLAME TRUMP! YOU ARE STUCK WITH THESE TWO (expletive) HEADS!!!"

Jeanette Flaim, chair of the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee, said: "It’s just vulgar. Kids are going to school, and they’re going by it every day, and parents are driving their kids. We just don’t think kids should have to see that or parents should have to explain that."

According to Calvert Recorder and Southern Maryland News, county commissioners stated that they may not have a choice, and cited the 2015 Reed v. Town of Gilbert Supreme Court Decision.

Buddy Hance, president of the Board of County Commissioners, said: "There is nothing that we as county government can do for language that’s on a legal sign. You know this country was built on the foundation of free speech, and sometimes we like what that free speech says and sometimes we don’t."

However, Flaim stated that in her opinion, it was not just a free speech issue. She told Fox 5 that there have been pro-Trump and anti-Biden billboards in the same spot for years, and that her issue is with the language and imagery of the latest billboard. She stated that she was hoping for a public pressure campaign calling for the removal of the sign.

"We have not complained about any other signs," she said. "It’s this sign we think is, again, damaging to all of us, all of us in Calvert. The GOP, the Independents, everybody."

The person behind the sign has yet to be reached for comment.

The message was spotted on the back of the SUV, and many applauded the driver after a Reddit user shared the photo on the site.

"Saw this patriot while driving," the user wrote alongside the photo of the car. The message read, "This is America...we don't redistribute wealth...we earn it!"

Many readers agreed with the driver's message about the redistribution of wealth.

"Yeah for the guy that has the guts to display this saying on his rear window!!!! More people should do/say the same exact thing, and just maybe it might get through to ALL----well some of the many freeloaders that think the world owes them a living!!!!" one reader commented on the site's Facebook page.

"We are redistributing wealth by giving so much money to too many young people that can work but don't want to. They in turn have too much free time on their hands and some get into trouble. Need to see cuts and would certainly help with our drug problems. They need to be worried about keeping a job to put food on the table not their next drug deal!" another wrote.

"True words for true Americans. This should be on every patriotic American vehicle," another added.

Others felt that the message was something that most people should innately understand.

"I don't know why it's so difficult for liberals to understand. This nation was supposed to be unique in that the government stays out of our way so that we may be productive. Every entitlement program is simply a means to redistribute wealth. Stephan Molyneux is exactly right when he says government entitlement programs are a gross violation of our property rights," one Reddit user commented.

Others, however, felt that the message was simply too cut and dry.

"so let me get this straight, we're trying to fight the 1% Globalists, but are cool with these same Globalists hoarding all of our resources? Sick logic, guys…There is nothing wrong with bringing nuance to an argument instead of going 'hurr durr, f**k these cucks wanting handouts' without fully grasping the situation. Being able to sustain yourself is what everyone should strive for, I don't want any handouts, but seeing things in black and white doesn't do either side any good," one user wrote.

A Roanoke, Virginia, woman was outraged to discover that a waitress at a restaurant she visited stole money from her in the form of a forged tip.

Whitney Anderson took to Facebook to share her story, which quickly went viral.

So last night my husband and I ate at Abuelo's in Roanoke. We tipped $10 on 45 and made it $55.40 and I signed my name. I didn't take the blank customer copy out of the book. Today I checked my bank account and saw where we had been charged 65.40 so I called the manager and he said that's what we wrote. I drove out there and demanded to see the receipt.

So the waitress trashed my receipt (the merchant copy) and filled out the customer copy and forged a signature that doesn't even look like my name. I mean seriously. She could have at least tried to sign my last name anderson.

I called corporate and they said they will get back with me in less than 10 business days and the manager just said he'd refund my $10 she stole in less than 10 business days. It's not just about $10 is the fact that this is fraud and theft!

I have been serving for 11 years now and so many people leave that blank copy of the receipt and it's never crossed my mind to fill it out and forge their signature! I'm appalled that this place is not doing anything about it and allowing someone so dishonest to handle money and people's credit cards.

The police are involved now. I mean, who knows how long she's been doing this to people that probably don't check their bank accounts regularly.

Anderson felt as if the forged receipt was the same as credit card fraud, according to WSLS.

“It was almost a 25 [percent] tip and then they go behind you and fraudulently sign a name to a credit card receipt,” she said. “I don’t feel that’s any different than someone taking your debit card.”

Restaurant managers apologized to Anderson over the phone and offered to refund “the entire value” of her bill.

McDonald's is conducting an investigation after an employee at a Virginia franchise reportedly refused to serve a police officer in uniform.

Cathy Naff has accused a McDonald's employee of refusing to serve her husband, Scott Naff, who had just finished a 13 hour shift, according to the Daily Mail.

Cathy explained what happened in a Facebook post:

My husband just got home from working a 13 hour day to share a story with me that has left me completely shocked.

Around 7:00 tonight he took a small break and went to the drive through of the Mcdonald’s at Parham Road and Route 1. He was in uniform and his police vehicle. He paid for his food and drove forward to the next window.

The young man who was working that window looked at him and backed away from the window mouthing something to my husband. My husband couldn’t hear him since the window was closed. The guy finally walked to the window and slid it open.

My husband told him that he couldn’t hear him and the guy said “I ain’t serving no police” and closed the window. The guy proceeded to tell everyone in McDonald’s, including the manager, that he was not going to serve the police. The employees stared at my husband trying to figure out what they should do…..after all he had paid for his food but no one wanted to give it to him.

Finally one guy brought it over to him without a single word. As my husband pulled around the building, a gentleman who was in the McDonalds at the time approached his car and told my husband how he had never seen anything like this.

He said the guy had told the manager that she could fire him but he wasn’t going to “serve the police.” The manager did nothing to help the situation and wasn’t even the person who brought him his food.

It’s amazing that people can act this way but even more shocking that the manager allowed him to continue on with his antics. I know that we will never visit this McDonald’s again! This is such an eye opener for me as to what the people who protect us have to go through on a daily basis. Please pray for the men and women who serve and protect us and put their lives on the line for us each and every day.

The post quickly spread on social media, prompting McDonald's to issue a statement in response.

"At our restaurants, we are dedicated to serving all of our customers, including the police officers who protect and serve our communities," the fast food chain said in the statement, according to Blue Lives Matter. "We are conducting a full investigation into this matter and will take appropriate actions."

Cathy Naff later shared a follow-up post regarding the incident:

Immediately after this happened my husband emailed a complaint to corporate. Late last night he received a standard email back thanking him for his concern. We called the franchise owner yesterday who said they were going to look into this.

They called us back 5 hours later and said they had let the young man go but the manager is saying she knew nothing about this. When we told him the information about the manager he said he would look into this further.

My husband is one of the calmest, kindest, most level headed guys I know. This should’ve never happened to him or anyone else. Others have privately shared with us throughout this ordeal that the same behavior happened to them at the same restaurant.

For McDonald’s to be questioning the validity of this story is an outrage. Thank you for all the support….not just for my husband but for law enforcement officers everywhere! The bottom line is that we shouldn’t treat anyone…..uniform or not in the manner this McDonald’s has been treating people. Every person should be treated with respect!

According to Harris County Deputies, a gun shop owner shot a suspect during a burglary at the Crosby store.

Around 4:30 a.m., the 79-year-old military veteran heard a commotion outside and went to check it out. He saw a male suspect leaving his Kennings Road store and a shootout ensued.

According to authorities, the suspects shot at the owner multiple times. He hid behind a small tree as he exchanged fire with the suspects, later stating that he shot at least one of them.

The suspects had already taken some guns, with deputies finding one on the road and others by the building.

Deputies found a male in his late teens or early 20s about 15 minutes later at another location on Morelos Road. The man had a gunshot wound and died at the scene. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez maintained that there was a strong possibility that the victim was connected to the gun store burglary.

The sheriff revealed that there were some pistols recovered near the body, believed to be taken during the burglary. Two males were detained at the second scene.

Gonzalez stated that the vehicle the males were found in appears to be one of the vehicles used in the burglary. The case will be referred to a grand jury.

Officer Jody Thompson witnessed a lot of bad things while on the job. He’s had to deal with murderers, robbers, and other criminals. But the ones that he dislikes the most are the child abuse cases. Officer Thompson thinks it is unbearable that people take out their rage and frustration on a tiny human – someone who cannot defend themselves and who do not know any better.

But one call changed Officer Thompson’s life forever. Over the radio, the dispatcher sent him to a house in Poteau, Oklahoma where he had to help save the life of a child. That was because the call had come in about child abuse.

Children were always close to Officer Thompson’s heart. He and his wife had three of their own. That’s why child abuse calls always made him angry, and he wished he could do something to help lift the abused children up and out of the horrible situations they found themselves in.

Little did he know that on that day in Poteau, Officer Thompson would be adding another child to his family of 5.

When he arrived at the scene, an 8-year-old was cowering in fear. He was shocked and afraid and badly beaten. His hands and feet were bound with a rope, and the boy was covered in bruises. He had been shoved into a trash barrel. Before this had all happened, the boy’s parents had held him in the shower and soaked him to the bone. He was cold and tied up and vulnerable. Officer Thompson’s heart went out to the child.

Thompson felt an instant connection to the boy. He helped him out of the situation and brought him to the hospital. He vowed, then and there, not to leave the boy’s side. When John, the boy, arrived at the hospital, he was in critical condition. But while John recovered in the ICU, Officer Thompson was by his side. It didn’t take long for John to regain his strength and his spunky spirit.

When John was deemed healthy enough to leave the hospital, the Thompsons adopted John into their family.

Two years after the adoption, John is a straight-A student. He now excels in the gifted program at his school and is doing much better than he was when his birth parents were stuffing him into a trashcan.

While this would be a happy ending, would you believe me if I told you things got even better? Well, they did, and it was all thanks to Officer Thompson and his wife.

While they were adopting John, they learned that his birth mother, who was locked in jail, had given birth to a baby girl. Without waiting for a second, the Thompsons drove to the hospital and picked up the newborn. She was not even 24-hours old when they started the adoption paperwork.

During an interview with KFSM, Thompson said he knew he wanted John to join his family as soon as he saw him.

“When I seen him. When I seen him in that house, I knew.”

Officer Thompson not only puts his life at risk while on the job, but he also wants to help others live their best life too.

A strip club in Michigan drew flak from locals after posting a joke sign which offered jobs to new high school graduates. The sign said that they were looking for “gorgeous, confident, and talented women that can own the dance floor,” with no mention of the specific age requirements, but was aimed at fresh high school graduates.

The topless bar club in Harrison, which is named Miceli’s Corner, has gone viral for their controversial message on the sign: “Now Hiring Class of 2016.”

The sign has gone viral on social media, often taking criticism and outrage from the local residents, saying that the sign was giving young girls a message that just wasn’t right.

Local Lisa Mulholland said the club’s sign was inappropriate and sends the wrong message to high school graduates.

She also told WNEM: “If you’re a graduate you want to go to college.”

She does admit that she herself has no issue with the club, but that the sign was just in very poor taste. “They’re good people, but I still don’t think it’s right. I don’t think it’s right at all,” Mulholland said in her interview.

Another resident, Lisa Dickerson, also agreed.

“Children fresh out of high school shouldn’t be taking their clothes off for money. I think it’s sickening,” she continues.

The club has not immediately responded to phone calls regarding the sign, but they have issued an official apology to WNEM, saying that the sign just ‘meant to be a joke.”

“In no way were we trying to offend anybody. The sign was simply a joke,” the statement said.

The club has been around since the 1970’s and offers visitors with “mild and welcoming atmosphere” where the “girls will take your mind off your daily troubles” as you listen to “the most modern music.”

When Adric White broke into and entered a Family Dollar, he drew his gun and demanded that the cashier hand over all the cash. White, 18, thought he knew what he was doing when he held the employees hostage at gunpoint. He ordered them around, acting like a big shot, making demands and feeling strong when they were carried out; however, things took a twist when a Good Samaritan with a legal concealed-carry license busted out their gun and turned the tables on the young armed robber.

When the Good Samaritan came to the scene, he pointed his weapon at White and told the young man not to move. But White was not about to have his glory stolen from him that easily. Instead of listening, he whipped around to look at the Good Samaritan. Because the man with the gun had warned the robber not to move, White got filled with five bullets, which took him out and allowed others to restrain him and get his gun away from him.

While Adric White survived the shooting with five gunshot wounds, his ego took the biggest beating. He was treated at the hospital and subsequently charged with armed robbery. When his family learned about what was happening, they threw a fit – they could not believe how it was acceptable for the man with his concealed carry license to shoot White. They wanted to know why the police had not arrested him.

The family argued that the man should not have shot White. He should have simply turned around and not gotten involved in the situation. While it was admittedly risky for the Good Samaritan to pull his gun and take part in the robbery, trying to stop it, he got involved and then fired five shots when he felt threatened by White.

Because the Good Samaritan felt threatened by White and his weapon, he took the shots. And because White was waving his gun around, pointing it at the employees and threatening their lives if he did not get what he wanted from the store, it was deemed reasonable that the bystander would stand up and try to save the people who were at risk. White and his family had no real reason to back up their statement. They just didn’t like the fact that White’s plans were thwarted and he did not get away without a few bullet wounds.

It has not been indicated where the five bullets shot White. However, he is in stable condition and expected to recover fully. He should be grateful that he got away with his life. Bringing a gun into a store for an armed robbery is always a dangerous proposition. While he did not get out of there without a few marks, he did get out of there with his life. That’s something to be thankful for.

The Good Samaritan has asked to remain anonymous. We respect that wish and have not published his name. But he wanted it to be clear that this is the first time he has had to use his concealed carry in such a way and he regrets it had to come to bullets.

U.S. Army Ranger Lt. Col. Robert Risdon Jr. stopped at a Mobile, Alabama, Taco Bell with Jason Gibson, the Columbus Lions football coach. While in the restaurant, two boys walked in and began asking the customers if they were interested in buying the homemade sweets they had with them.

Neither Risdon nor Gibson had any cash on them, but when Richardson discovered that the boys hadn’t eaten dinner and were hungry, he got them tacos. Gibson caught the kind gesture on camera and posted it on Facebook, where it garnered massive applause.

“I’m kinda embarrassed and humbled by the praise and don’t need it,” Risdon told The Huffington Post. “I am a believer that we live in the best country in the world with the best people and that acts of kindness happen every day.”

Stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia, Ridson said that he and Gibson were eating when the boys, 9 and 13-years-old respectively, asked if they wanted to buy something to support their local church.

Risdon said the boys looked cold and wet, so he asked them if they’d eaten dinner yet. The teen revealed that they hadn’t.

He bought them tacos and drinks, and had a friendly conversation with them. Risdon got a compliment from the younger of the two boys: “While eating his taco, [the 9-year-old] told me he wanted to be just like me someday and saluted me when he left the Taco Bell.”

Risdon told HuffPost that buying the boys some food was a no-brainer. He said: “Helping them was an easy decision ― more of a reaction. They were cold, wet, and hungry. They were great kids, very respectful and smart. It was the least I could do for two young Americans. They were happy to get some chow for sure, and very thankful.”

He said that the U.S. Army Rangers’ mission statement was his motivation to help.

“I think I can best sum things up as to why I did it because of a creed I live up to every day ― the Ranger Creed. One line in the creed encapsulates I think why I helped, ‘Never shall I fail my comrades.’ [The boys] were my comrades ... It was my DUTY to help them!” Risdon said.

Dana Finley Morrison, a Missouri fraternity and sorority worker, was on an American Airlines flight from St. Lucia to Miami on Saturday when she saw the pilot’s “Let's Go Brandon” sticker.

The slogan is an anti-Biden cry, and was coined in September when a Nascar reporter misheard “F*** Joe Biden” chants.

Morrison sent a tweet to American Airlines, writing: “Y'all cool with your pilots displaying this kind of cowardly rhetoric on their crew luggage when they're in uniform, about to board a plane? We are not the only passengers who noticed and were disgusted.”

The airline responded, writing: “Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we want to get this to the right team. Please DM any additional details.”

Morrison posted screenshots of her subsequent conversation with the airline, with one message reading: “We hold our team members to the highest standards and expectations.”

The airline’s policy states that staffers can only wear official, preapproved badges or pins, and pilots can only wear three pins at a time.

The airline has placed the pilot under investigation for his pin.

However, the airline’s sparked backlash online, with some insisting that the pilot should be allowed to express his views.

Some critics pointed out the airline’s hypocrisy, referring to the airline’s September 2020 decision to allow its staffers to wear Black Lives Matter pins.

At the time, the airline explained its decision with the statement: “American Airlines believes in equity and inclusion for all. light of the appropriate attention to lives of Black Americans, we will allow team members who wish to wear a Black Lives Matter pin to do so if they choose. We Believe Black Lives Matter. While American isn’t expressing support for specific organizations, we stand in solidarity with the movement for equality and justice for Black Americans who continue to experience racism and discrimination.”

Addressing the recent incident, one person commented: “The World is watching. If crew can openly wear BLM merch, hard to justify censoring this.”

Another person commented: “You guys have no problem with your employees sporting Democratic party, BLM, or rainbow regalia while they're on the job. Why should this be any different?”

One person wrote: “Will never fly American again if you discipline an employee for having a political opinion.”

“If he's not pushing the agenda on the passengers and not spewing stuff over the intercom she can mind her own business!” one commenter wrote. “This young man has done nothing wrong.”

The airline has not revealed the identity of the pilot in question, or whether he will be punishment for wearing the unapproved item.

The airline has yet to respond to requests for comment.

A California driver managed to get a specialized license plate that spells a prohibited word when viewed in a mirror.

According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles, personalized license plates cannot: “Be offensive or slang in ANY language,” “interchange letters and numbers to look like other plates,” or “resemble an existing license plate.” The driver of this truck slipped past the rules, Boing Boing reports.

Plates can be personalized “with your own combination of letters, numbers, and other characters,” notes the state’s DMV. “Standard plates that are personalized allow for 2 to 7 characters. Other personalized license [plates can have] a varying number of characters based on what kind of plate you choose to personalize.”

In addition to personalized plates, California offers special interest plates, military plates, and historical plates.

Special interest plates reportedly help fund various state projects and programs, including those dealing with agriculture, the arts, coastal preservation, firefighters, pets, child health and safety, preservation, conservation, recreation and more.

Military plates include Congressional Medal of Honor, Gold Star Family, Legion of Valor, Pearl Harbor Survivor, Ex-Prisoner of War, and Purple Heart. In addition, “Veterans' Organization plates are available to anyone who wishes to order one to represent their pride in the nation's military.”

Historical plates are also available “for motor vehicles that are of historical interest” that were built after 1922 and at least 24-years-old.

The first license plate of any kind was issued in 1901, when New York passed a law requiring motor vehicle owners to register with the state, reports Time magazine.

The law required license plates to include “the separate initials of the owner’s name placed upon the back thereof in a conspicuous place, the letters forming such initials to be at least three inches in height.”

A man named George F. Chamberlain received the first license plate issued.

The vehicle seemed to be having some problems, although she had no idea what – until she got close enough to read the sign posted on the back window of the Ford.

When she read the message: “Learning stick, sorry for any delay,” she was hit with a sudden realization about herself, not the driver in the SUV. She snapped a picture of the sign and took to Facebook to share her realization, not only about herself, but also about the people we share the road and this world with.

Now that she knew the person was learning to drive stick, she stated: “I was very patient with their slow shifting, and honestly they were doing pretty well for still learning.” She then asked: “Would I have been just as patient if the sign hadn’t been there? I can almost definitely say no.” This answer made her realize that there was a problem.

“We don’t know what someone is going through. We don’t wear signs that illustrate our personal struggles,” she wrote. “You don’t see signs taped to people’s shirts that say, ‘Going through a divorce,’ or ‘Lost a child,’ or ‘Feeling depressed,’ or ‘Diagnosed with cancer.'”

“If we could read visually what those around us are going through we would definitely be nicer. But we shouldn’t have to see signs and have reasons to treat strangers with kindness. We should do it anyway, whether we know what is going on or not. Whether they deserve it or not. Let’s give everyone an extra dose of patience, kindness, and love,” she concluded.

We do not know what people are going through, and we hope that the hand-scribbled message, and Hailey’s realization, will serve as a teaching lesson to others.

Police are investigating after a Michigan couple was found dead at their kitchen table.

Cameron and Courtney Hulet were found dead at their Dundee home, the Daily Mail reported. The couple was getting ready to eat Taco Bell for dinner when they suddenly collapsed and died, police said.

Police first learned about the couple through a neighbor. The neighbor said she visited the couple at around 9pm and thought they were asleep. When the neighbor returned hours later and saw them in the same position, she called the police.

Investigators are not sure at this time what might have caused the death of 20 year old Courtney and 28 year old Cameron. They are waiting for toxicology tests and autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death.

“It’s really a puzzle,” Dundee Village Manger Dave Uhl told the Monroe Evening News. “There is no indication as to what happened. It’s a mystery.”

Police said Cameron was found lying on his side while his wife was found face-down. Authorities did find a pound of marijuana on the kitchen table near the couple's bodies.

Dundee police chief Todd said the couple’s food was untouched and that the marijuana appeared as if it were in the process of being divided up for distribution.

Law enforcement officials added that there were no signs of obvious trauma on either of the bodies and that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Police said that there was no indication that a third party was involved and no immediate signs foul play.

Chief Opperman said that Child Protective Services had recently removed two young children from the couple’s home. The couple had been living in Dundee for only six weeks.

Cameron has a criminal history of possession of marijuana and assault, according to reports.

A restaurant called Gross’ burgers located in Danville is now receiving thousands of negative comments on social media due to a bumper sticker in the restaurant that has been deemed racist.

The bumper sticker went viral after a customer shared a picture of the restaurant saying it was “absolutely disgusting.” The restaurant owner has since refused to remove the controversial bumper sticker.

The sticker displays the message, "If you can’t read this, thank a Marine,” and has additional text in Arabic that says “Allahu akbar.”

According to the owner, Brad Gross, the sticker is one of his "patriotic items" that has been part of his restaurant for more than 10 years. In fact, he told Fox News that he received it from a Marine during his service in Iraq.

However, the customer who shared the picture of the restaurant is still disgusted about it. Sam Schnelle’s post had more than 800 shares on Facebook with the caption “f--- Grossburgers. Absolutely disgusting.” Schnelle later said that she had called the restaurant so they could remove the sticker, but she didn’t receive a positive response:

“They then handed the phone to the manager who said, we are most certainly not taking it down. YOU PEOPLE are too sensitive nowadays. And then proceeded to argue with whatever recommendations/points I made and then hung up on me,” she said, “Nice.”

Many tweets and Facebook posts have been taken down since the original picture was posted. Gross was a Marine himself and he currently owns a burger restaurant that employs his fellow Marines. People in his community have supported him and defended him from the complaints. “I can’t thank them enough,” he added. Moreover, he claims that he has a long line of military service that should be respected and appreciated. He has made it clear that he isn’t planning to remove the sticker.

However, people have made negative comments about the restaurant owner’s reaction. For instance, one user asked on Schnelle’s Facebook post “Why are all these Americans cheering for ignorance? The ability to speak more than one language should be applauded. Pathetic."

Rachel Parker posted on twitter, "Hey Danville people, don't eat at Grossburgers! Don't support racism!"

There have also been sarcastic comments such as "Ya know. I’m not about racism at all, but all this talk about gross burgers really has me craving their fries."

A New Hampshire police officer broke into a car to rescue a baby locked inside, only to discover it was a lifelike doll.

Keene police Lt. Jason Short was called to a Wal-Mart for a report of a baby locked inside of a car in the parking lot on July 23, reports WMUR. 

Because it was a hot day, Short decided immediately upon seeing feet sticking out from under a blanket that he needed to break the window to rescue the baby.

After Short had broken into the car and pulled the blanket away, he thought the child was dead, so he breathed into its mouth, but the lungs did not inflate. He then realized that the baby was, in fact, a realistic-looking doll and that its mouth did not open. He canceled the call for an ambulance.

When Short found the owner of the doll, Carolynne Seiffert, who was getting her hair cut in Super Cuts during the incident, she told the officer that it was designed to look as much as a real baby as possible. Short said the doll even felt like a real baby when he picked it up.

Seiffert had purchased the doll, named Ainslie from a doll nursery for $2,300 the week before the incident, according to Sentinel Source. The doll, called a "reborn" doll, is handcrafted from silicone so it looks as realistic as possible. Seiffert has a collection of reborn dolls.

She says she plans to put a sticker on her car to alert others that the babies inside the car are not real.

Two-year-old Charlee Campbell and her dog Penny went missing in Lebanon Junction for nearly two days, and emerged from the woods.

While Charlee returned home safe, the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for answers.

Charlee's Grandmother Beth Campbell stated that she's still amazed her granddaughter, who lives with her, is alive.

"Whenever they told me that they had found Mo, Charlee, I was just outside of myself. I was just so happy," she said.

Petting Penny, Beth stated, "This is our hero right here," and added that she believes Penny remained by Charlee's side the entire time she was missing.

"When my dog didn't come home, and my baby wasn't home, she was not going to leave that baby until she got here," she said of the pit bull.

According to law enforcement officials, Penny made it home shortly before Charlee was found several hundred yards away, at a neighbor’s house.

"I can't even explain how happy that I am that this baby is home, because I love her more than anything in this world," Beth said.

Wayne Brown, who found Charlee, stated that he’d been on his couch praying for the little girl when he saw a blonde-haired girl in his backyard.

The happy reunion hit Brown in more ways than one.

"My little brother went missing," he said. "He had wandered away from the home and he had climbed three fences. They found him miles away from the house. It was actually my uncle that found him and he was dead."

After finding Charlee, Brown gave her water and called 911. However, he still has lingering questions

"They've been everywhere. They've been all over this place, and how did they not find this child, and she just shows up where the search has been. How does that happen?" he asked.

The Bullitt County Sheriff conducted a foot search from Brown's Roy Layne Road property, down the hill to Charlee's house, in hopes of finding tracks or scents (by using dogs) or the answers to solve the mystery.

Charlee's family stated that she was in the hospital on Saturday morning, but she was doing okay.

50-year-old Judson Keith Hoover pleaded guilty to killing his wife, 38-year-old Rebecca Ruth Hoover, hours after he was charged with murder.

Rebecca had last been seen on August 2nd and Judson filed for divorce a day later. Officials maintain that she was already dead at the time.

The incident came to light after the couple’s eight-year-old son told a school counselor that he’d witnessed his father kill his mother.

According to reports, Judson entered a guilty plea to stop the boy from having to testify in court.

New Albany Police Chief Told Bailey stated that the case began when Rebecca’s mom reported her missing on August 4. When officers went to her home on St. Joseph Road, they found no sign of Rebecca.

Bailey stated: “Fast-forwarding to Aug. 27, our criminal investigators were alerted that Ms. Hoover’s disappearance may very well have been criminal in nature. Based on that information, our criminal investigators took everything into high gear and spent countless hours uncovering the facts of this case.”

According to reports, a forensic interview was conducted with an unnamed family member, and search warrants executed at the couple’s home.

Rebecca’s body was recovered and Judson taken into custody the same day on suspicion of murder.

Charges were then formally filed and he pleaded guilty on the same day.

According to the probable cause affidavit: “The child disclosed seeing his father stomp his mother in the head 20 times, wearing black boots, while she was lying on the ground next to a black refrigerator in the basement. The child also observed Judson Hoover punch Rebecca Hoover in the stomach with a set of keys in his hands, but she was unresponsive and did not move. The child observed blood coming from Rebecca Hoover’s head and left ear.”

On August 27, detectives spoke to Judson when he went to pick the kids from school, and he granted authorities consent to search the family’s home and vehicles.

Investigators and crime scene technicians discovered blood spatter at the bottom of the basement stairs.

During his plea, Judson stated that he’d strangled Rebecca to death and had initially left her in the basement.

However, the medical examiner concluded that Rebecca died of blunt force trauma to the head and torso, consistent with the son’s account.

According to authorities, Rebecca’s body was also mutilated, but Judson claimed he did not recall doing so.

A few miles from the family’s home, surveillance footage at a storage facility showed Judson moving what appeared to be a body on August 4, minutes after police visited the home to discuss the missing person report.

He was caught on footage on August 28 returning to the storage unit, a day after he was questioned by police, driving a rented Dodge Caravan. He was seen lugging a 55-gallon container into the van.

He admitted to transferring the container holding his wife’s body to another storage unit on Strawberry Lane in Louisville. Rebecca’s body was recovered at the facility.

A group of California mothers are taking it upon themselves to help a 4-month-old baby whose police officer mother was shot and killed in Palm Springs on Oct. 8.

Lesley Zerebny, 27, was responding to a domestic disturbance call when she was shot, along with two fellow officers, according to The Associated Press. She had been with the Palm Springs Police Department for a year and a half and had just returned to duty following maternity leave.

On Oct. 11, more than 500 ounces of breast milk were donated to Zerebny's family, according to KTVU. It came from a group of women from Northern California's Monterey area and the milk will be screened and tested before it is given to Zerebny's 4-month-old daughter, Cora.

The effort was led by a woman identified only as Ashley, who saw a call for prayers on social media and inquired about whether the family could make use of donated breast milk. She was told that yes, it could be helpful, and within a day, a month's worth of milk was delivered in coolers.

Ashley told KTVU she "just wanted to do a good thing in a bad situation."

The Palm Springs Police Officers Association indicated that if more people are looking to help, they should send Enfamil baby formula to the department.

The man suspected of killing Zerenby, 26-year-old John Felix, was apprehended later, following a shootout with police, reports AP. He is expected to be charged with the murders of Zerebny and her partner, Jose Gilbert Vega, a 35-year veteran of the force who was set to retire soon.

Zerebny and Vega were speaking with Felix through a screen door at his home when he suddenly opened fire with an assault rifle. A third officer who was hit is recovering from his injuries after being treated at a nearby hospital.

The incident marked the first time since 1962 that a Palm Springs police officer has been killed in the line of duty.

Memorial services for Zerebny and Vega are scheduled for Oct. 18.

The principal of Miami Northwestern Senior High School, Wallace Arisitde, issued a public apology and promised to take action after a video of the dance team’s performance went viral. The video, uploaded by FlyHeight.com, showed the team dressed in racy costumes.

The members of the dance team, performing on the sidelines of the football field, were dressed in costumes consisting of glittery blue and black bodysuits, lacy pantyhose with garters, and high black boots.

The video sparked controversy, with many people slamming the school for allowing teenagers to wear that kind of costume. Arisitde released a statement revealing that the parents of the girls in the dance team had approved the costumes.

He wrote: “While all the parents of the dancers who participated in the event approved of the attire, we understand the concerns that have been raised and sincerely apologize for any offense this may have caused. Looking ahead, we will implement a more comprehensive and stringent uniform approval process to ensure an appropriate representation of our school.”

The dance routine was also slammed, as it mostly featured hip gyrations and waving fans.

The video showed the team, each girl wearing full makeup and high ponytails, performing as the marching band passed by.

The video got over 18,000 views on the site, and tens of thousands on Facebook.

The video drew mixed reactions from the community.

Speaking to Local10, Miami Northwestern grandmother Debbie Frasier said: “If they're dancers, they're entertainers. So if you have the same problem, you have the problem with Beyoncé or young child stars who dress that way on national television.”

However, many slammed the skimpy costumes, and one Facebook user commented: “I think for a high school they totally could have done without the garter belts. its [sic] definitely other ways to jazz up a dance uniform.”

Another wrote: “This is a high school dance team! How in the hell did the adults think this was in the least bit ok?”

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has accused a McDonald's restaurant of intentionally adding bacon to a Muslim family's meal (video below).

While visiting the area from New York, the family stopped by a Decatur McDonald's, where they placed an order for 14 sandwiches, AL.com reports.

While eating their meal, they stumbled upon the bacon, which Islam strictly forbids followers from consuming.

"They started noticing it tasted different to them," said Khaula Hadeed, head of the Alabama chapter of the CAIR. "They eat McChicken all the time at McDonald's. They knew what they ordered -- they know what's in the sandwich."

To Hadeed, this was a clear attack on the family.

"It doesn't sound like a mistake, especially on 14 sandwiches," Hadeed declared, calling the incident "an intentional act of religious and ethnic bigotry."

Now Hadeed is demanding an investigation, reporting that one of the adults vomited twice afterwards.

"They're essentially disturbed about it," she said of the family.

"McDonald's should investigate this incident, identify and terminate the employees responsible, and take proactive steps to satisfy this American family's concerns, starting with an apology."

News of the incident provoked fierce debate on social media.

Some empathized with the family and believed the accusations.

"I've certainly seen 'good Christians' doing some nasty things to those who are different," said one AL.com reader. "I don't know what happened here, but I can believe that someone putting together the sandwiches in a way that they knew would be offensive ... I tend to believe the Muslim family, and think that some nasty fool stuck bacon into their sandwiches as a way to humiliate and inflict suffering on someone who is 'other,' they added. "That's UnAmerican, in my books."

"Decatur is a hot bed of alt-right, religious fanatics who aren't tolerant of anybody who doesn't look like a Baptist," chimed in a second.

Others, however, were less than sympathetic, and a few were even skeptical.

"It's a scam," wrote one, echoing the sentiments of a few who argued the family intentionally created the controversy for money or attention. "They probably picked an Alabama McDonald's because they figured it would draw more attention than say a McDonald's in NYC."

"Yeah, I don't believe this was done by any McDonald's employee," wrote another. "I'd say 99% of the time, the people working in the back aren't looking to see who their customers are."
