Explanation:
Honestly, if you had told me a few years ago that I would hold the political views that I champion today, I would've disregarded you as flat-out insane. A couple years ago, I was a staunch supporter of the Bush doctrine. Over the summer of 2008 I began to realize (thanks to the "World's Smallest Political Quiz" and the following: www.quiz2d.com) that I was actually more Libertarian than I thought.
After finally losing faith in the war on drugs, I defected from GOP politics and then supported the Libertarian Party. I am a die-hard Ron Paul supporter, and I feel inane for bashing his movement before I became a part of it.
I accidentally became an Anarcho-Capitalist on the night of Obama's nomination as president. I am more than willing to work within the system. To accomplish this, I vote and campaign for others based on a three step philosophy of my own:
1- Privatize 2- Legalize 3- Decentralize. (Yeah I know, easier said than done)
My views can be summed up as follows: It's not so much that I think we have an immediate need to privatize government functions and then abolish it, so much as I believe that government is an unnecessary institution. I don't expect utopia from abolishing government, but I sure don't think government solves any of the problems it's intended to either. Hence the rejection of a "nightwatchman" government.
On a more personal and philosophical level, I am a conservative in the sense that I would never in a million years engage in drug use, use of prostitutes, or even sex out of marriage. And just as much, I find no evidence that government can curb those activities without creating even bigger problems than we started with. I have been a strong supporter of Intelligent Design for almost a year now. I am debating it mainly to create a FAQ sheet for it similar to the Talk Origins "Index to Creationist Claims."
