Choose Responsibility

CHOOSE RESPONSIBILITY is a nonprofit organization founded to stimulate informed and dispassionate public discussion about the presence of alcohol in American culture and to consider policies that will effectively empower young adults age 18 to 20 to make mature decisions about the place of alcohol in their own lives.

CR's newest project is The Amethyst Initiative, which calls on elected officials to support open debate, re-consider the 10% highway fund “incentive” that has kept the drinking age at 21 in every state, and to discuss new ideas about the best ways to prepare young adults to make responsible decisions about alcohol use.
