Sinkholes Torment China

A massive sinkhole swallows a busy intersection in China. Hours before the accident, this officer noticed something strange. Traffic officers rushed to block off a large portion of the street, and moments later the ground collapsed. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. China’s “karst terrain” is characterized by soluble bedrock, making the region especially prone to dangerous sinkholes. None of these events resulted in major injuries. Watch your step!
