Doctors are trying desperately to save Zsa Zsa Gabor’s leg from amputation.
As we reported earlier, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s doctors originally had planed a partial amputation of the 93-year-old’s leg after a blood clot in her leg spread and became extremely infected. Zsa Zsa’s leg began to develop gangrene, and doctors initially thought they would have to amputate her leg in order to save her life.
Zsa Zsa’s treatment plan has changed, however, and doctors are now attempting to control the infection with powerful antibiotics in hopes of saving her leg.
Zsa Zsa Gabor is being treated at the UCLA Medical Center.
Her publicist John Blanchette told People magazine: “Over the next two days, the doctors are treating her with powerful antibiotics in the hope that they will affect the lesion on her lower leg. It’s now very deep, and 12 inches long.”
