A Indian woman was left shocked after she found out that her daughter-in-law urinated into her pot of tea to get revenge.
Rekha Nagvanshi, 30, of Indore, India, was discovered by her mother-in-law urinating into her teapot in the kitchen in protest at her arranged marriage to their son, Deepak, Metro reports.
Nagvanshi had allegedly been peeing into her in-laws' pot of tea for a year, every time they paid a visit.
“She was very unhappy with her arranged marriage and said her husband treated her like a slave and eventually she decided she’d had enough,” friend Alia Kohli, 32, said, according to Metro. “But after moving out, he begged her to go back for the sake of their four-year-old daughter. She agreed but only if he cooked for her, massaged her feet and did all the washing up.”
But Deepak’s parents, Suraj, and her husband Ajith, 55, found out about the arrangement and attempted to stop it.
“He seemed fine with it but they went mental and accused her of treating him like a slave,” Kohli adds. “Rekha is strong-minded and likes to be independent and the thought of being dictated to by his parents was just too much for her. So I guess that’s when she decided to start doing what she did, and urinating in their tea.”
“We used to go and visit them once or twice a week,” mother-in-law Suraj said, Metro reports. “And although we knew she didn’t like us we had no idea she was doing this. She always smiled and offered us tea and we accepted. But one day I went into the kitchen and found her urinating into the teapot.”
The in-laws are now seeking justice, and have decided to take out a private prosecution after their initial complaint was turned down by police, the Daily Mirror reports. Nagvanshi and her husband are no longer living together.
