British model and former Big Brother contestant Sallie Axl says St. Mary’s hospital in Manchester put her dead baby in a box and plastic bag and handed it to her after her miscarriage.
This past summer, Axl went through an experience that "just about ruined" her life, and she took to Facebook to share her tragic story.
In the disturbing post, Axl claims that after she suffered through a miscarriage, the hospital showed no compassion for her situation.

She wrote in the Sept. 21 Facebook post:
“On the 17th of July I received my dead baby at St Mary's hospital in a box and a plastic bag ...!! With that another bag of medicines and sent on my way home to grieve . My dead baby was treat [sic] no more than someone handing me over a takeaway . This is the first time I have been able to talk about this as my ordeal was disgusting from ST (sic) Mary's hospital in Manchester .
"I was rushed into hospital as 7 weeks before I had suffered a miscarriage losing my little angel . The hospital didn't remove my child and left the baby to infect me . Causing me to have a type 4 hemorrige [sic] losing 40% of my blood . My veins collapsing and taken into emergency surgery. I didn't have long left to live and have honestly never been so scared in my life.
"When I woke up in blood stained bed and gown it took days for the nurses to change them leaving me in the reminders of the miscarriage and blood all over the floor. There was no compassion and one nurse referring to my unborn child as a 'IT' talking about getting her tested and speaking about taking a sliviring [sic] off my baby .
"This should not happen to woman [sic] who lose their unborn children !!
"I should NoT [sic] of been left to take my dead child home in a plastic bag!
"I have only just started coming to terms with this ordeal and will finally be laying her to rest this week.
"Please stop this happening in hospitals . It just about ruined my life.
"Thankgod [sic] I have my beautiful daughter nirvana to see me through these times .
"NHS you should be ashamed !!”
NHS tweeted Axl in response to her Facebook post, which has been shared more than 17,000 times since it was posted on Sept. 21.
“Hello Sallie, very sorry to hear about your loss. Please speak directly with the hospital if you aren’t doing so already.”
Axl told OK! Magazine that the apology wasn’t enough.
“I just want things to be better for other people,” she said.
