A New York teenager was arrested in connection to a double murder, that of her mother and her mother’s boyfriend.
On Jan. 4, authorities at the 61st Precinct station house in Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn questioned a 15-year-old girl regarding the slaughtering of her 38-year-old mother, Rosie Sanchez, and her mother's 40-year-old boyfriend, Anderson Nunez.
The murder allegedly occurred after the teenager told Sanchez that Nunez had repeatedly raped her. The mother did not believe the accusations and refused to protect the child from the allegedly abusive boyfriend, according to police sources who spoke with the New York Daily News and the New York Post.
After the teenager confessed to her cousin what had happened, police initiated a wellness check and discovered the bodies on Jan. 3.

Both corpses were found in different rooms inside the Sheepshead Bay Houses apartment. Sanchez was found in a bedroom chair with gunshot wounds, and Nunez was discovered on the floor in the kitchen with gunshot and stab wounds.
A knife and what appeared to be shell casings were also found.
Investigators are examining the possibility that the girl had an accomplice.
After the murders, the teenager visited her father for a couple days before staying with her cousin in Sunset Park, according to police. The girl told her cousin what she had done several days later, after he questioned why Sanchez had not been in touch.
One neighbor said she was surprised and saddened by the news.
“I can’t believe it,” neighbor Amy Moya told the Daily News. “[The couple] were always happy and laughing. They were always walking together as a couple. In the summer they would always go together to the beach.”
Moya added that she never saw the couple with the girl.
“I really can’t believe it,” Moya continued. “I’m shocked. That is such a quiet building.”
