When eight Syrian rebels decided to take a selfie to commemorate a moment, they got photobombed -- literally (video below).

The men, who are thought to be members of the Free Syrian Army, were gathered around a video camera in what appears to be a propaganda video. They are all sitting on a couch with their weapons on hand, singing into a microphone.

During the recording, one of the rebels decided to document the moment and snap a selfie.

Once the camera clicks, however, the room explodes in violent flames as the men scream in the background. The Syrian rebels forgot that the phone was rigged to an improvised explosive device in the room and accidentally blew themselves up, according to RT.

The camera falls to the ground after the blast and some men are captured jumping over the equipment in an attempt to escape the flames and smoke. A number of them can be heard yelling “Allahu Akbar” as they flee.

It’s unknown if any of the men were wounded or killed in the explosion since the video has not yet been verified.

The Free Syrian Army is allied with nations including the U.S., Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and France in the fight against ISIS, according to The Sun.

Syria has been ripped apart by civil war with nearly 300,000 people trapped in Aleppo without access to food, fuel or basic medical supplies since August.

The war formed out of unrest after President Bashar al-Assad suppressed an uprising calling for his removal from office during the 2011 Arab Spring.

Syrian opposition groups formed the Free Syrian Army, which has seized control of southern Syria and the area surrounding Aleppo, leading to the refugee crisis.

The UN mediated a round of Geneva Syria peace talks on Feb. 1, but the war continues to rage on.
