An Indian woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting the director of her daughter’s school in Jalandhar in India's Punjab region. Her reason for doing so was because the school official stopped her daughter from carrying her cellphone.

The incident occurred on April 20. Taranjit Kaur Hundal stormed into the office of Mayor World School Director Jyoti Nagrani and locked the door from the inside, surveillance footage (video below) shows.

The Hindustan Times reported that Hundal not only hurled verbal abuse at Nagrani, but also “beat her up and even strangulated her.”

The school released video footage of the entire altercation to police on April 22. Hundal is now facing charges of trespassing and assault.

School officials felt the charges brought against the angry mom were not enough. They urged police to arrest Hundal for abusing and beating the school director. Hundal was booked on April 23, according to reports.

School management is now looking to pin charges of attempted murder on Hundal.

President and chairman of St. Soldier Group of Institutions Anil Chopra said it would close the school if police did not charge Hundal with attempted murder.

Watch the video below and decide for yourself if Hundal was trying to murder the school director.
